I got this fight back in 2001. Im glad its up on Youtube, people use this fight to say Sprotts a bum who cant mix in world class. Both men were hurt in the rd then the fookin ref helps out the local boy and stops it at the earliest opportunity, kind of like what Amir Khan refs do.

Sprott was looking good there, could have warmed up into a great fight. Ref stopped it without looking at Sprott at all terrible decision.

I feel Sprott's underrated but seems hot and cold.

He Is at least European level(which means Skelton Is too)

Sounds like a terrific fight! I've got it somewhere and I hear that Sprott v Pele Reid was even better...

It was a premature stoppage, but I do think it still holds the argument that Overhand says it doesn't.

Sanders was hurting Sprott with practically every shot and I don't think he would have made the round. He was hurt, not enough to stop the fight, but it wasn't a flash KD and Sanders I'm pretty sure would have stopped in.

Incidently, has Sanders retired again? He did return last year but again no sight of him since.

I'm not sure that was ever televised? anyone know?

The fight was not televised, however like many fights Steve Holdsworth did a great job filming it and even commentating, good professional job.

I think the copy in circulation originates from me as if memory serves Steve told me at the time no one had shown any interest in the fight.

Was a good fight, Pele decked Sprott HARD in the 5th, TWICE! !

Yes great fight - I am surpriced that Sprott survived that round and came back ro win. (So was Pele I believe)

Got the fight several years back, I think that you are right that it is Holdsworth work.

Think i copied you that fight didnt i matey?!

Second time Sprott went down he was face down and didnt move. He looked DEAD!

Note how famously glass jawed Pele did not go down from Sprotts barrages in various rds, particularly 7th.

Sanders hurts even the elite heavies with practically every shot.

No Sprott cant beat Sanders, but he was up for it and could of made a good argument. Ref denied him this, unfairly.

Sprott did hurt him badly, so you never know.

Sprott stayed down as long as poss, but was up just in time. The South African commentators were well pissed off, because they seemed to be ell enjoying it.
