I think getting KTFO by Fraudley has embarrassed him into getting into shape.

I think this article is a misprint. 16 stone 4 is 228!
Danny started his career weighing 227!
Note it says it five lbs lighter than he weighed for Mike Tyson, well he weighed 265 for Tyson, which would make him 261.
261 IS NOT 16 stone 4, which is 228 lbs.
Trust the BBC only 33 lbs out!

This information came from Paul Boyce, Gammer's manager, who I spoke to on the phone after the weigh-in.

39lb since Audley, three months ago - what has he been up to.

Right, fair do's, then the BBC are still a bunch of fekkin idiots, if they think that 228 is only 5 lbs lighter than he weighed for Tyson, when he was 265! It is of course 37 lbs lighter!
That really is incredible if Danny has got down so low, I do worry about how on earth he's managed to do that, because I'm not sure that's even healthy to drop so much weight whilst training in that amount of time.

I used to be a believer in Danny when he was 220-235. He looked sharp vs (I think) Michael Murray and despite getting backed up and mauled, Keif Long.
However, SS Experiment Camp Sam changed my opinion.

I don't know how he lost almost three stone in less than three months. He could sell a book off the back of this! Boyce said Danny looked in really good shape, too. I wondered how he could do it healthily, even if we all knew he's carried too much for a long time.
So, weight-drained or back to his best?

Maybe he ate the same M&S prawn sandwiches I did yesterday? My guts are rotten and I think I've lost a fair few lbs today, if you get my drift.

Hard to see without looking at him. Remember in December he was a stone or so lighter than when he first fought Harrison and that was on 4 days notice (although apparently he was preparing). However, he actually looked fatter - just lost it on the legs and shoulders.
Still though, it shows that his increase in weight was all down to ill discipline cause look how quickly its fallen off.
Although maybe some doubts might now persist regarding some of Danny's other weights - remember the claims he was stuffing weights in to appear bigger.
I was asked the other day on what I would do as a Sport Psychologists if Danny approached me - my honest answer would be to turn down the offer. Fantastic challenge, but such a loose cannon in terms of his prepeation.
This on the day that Gammer weighs a career high 17 stone 1 lbs.
VM,
I don't know if it was a career high weight at the time, but Danny was considered overweight and above his optimal weight for the Sam fight. The fact that Sam was hurting him with a jab is probably a reason as to why he bulked up.

Maybe SS was just too good for him? Danny's never been the hardest to hit, and he did claim he had shingles.
I find it hard to see how coming in at 228 just a few months after weighing on so heavy for Skelton can be a good thing. He must have really put an incredible strain on himself to lose all that weight.
240 would have been a good effort, but 228! That's almost his career lightest weight! Christ it's only 20 lbs heavier than me or thereabouts!

Evidently he gave up his Mr Kipling habit & probably stopped hauling cars.

i think gammer is gonna get KO'd, danny knows this is the last chance saloon and he does not want his career to go down the pan in poor style, i firmly believe danny wants to go out as a champion of some sorts...and the british belt will do.
danny KO 3

I suspect that despite coming in so light, Danny is still finished. though I guess he could have enough left to beat Gammer, I cannot forget the beatings he's taken in recent years, and how poor his balance appeared. I don't think all of that is attributable to weight.

Yes I agreed with your thoughts and think 228 would be very unlikely. I just couldn't resist picking you up on 265-261=5
If Audley is in fact 260 he would be a domestic level beast, thats not too bad a weight for him (240s ideal with the muscle he carries)
And if Danny comes in form he'd spark Sinal 'fat boy not slim' 'Sam.

If Danny weighs did indeed weigh in @ 228lbs & is fit, then fair play to him. I hope Danny wins tomorrow night. Williams is a very nice guy and is not at all arrogant.
I met him @ York Hall a few years ago when johnny Tapia fought there, and he's was very pleasant. Hell, he even remebered my name & came back to me later that night & started talking to me. How many high profile sports personalities would do that?
After that though, I couldn't help thinking Danny is too nice for boxing. Bit I guess what you are outside the ring is completely different to what you are inside it.
Come on Danny!

This is worrying really, its as if in desperation Danny has gone on a strict diet and lost a load of weight in the hope that it was the weight that has been the problem in his last few fights and its not imo... reminds me a bit of Bowe coming in fairly light for the second Golota fight and having absolutely nothing in there that night, ...I cant see such a huge weight loss in such a short time being healthy for Danny... he should be 240 to 247 imo... he's naturaly quite thick set and has always carried his weight well even at 280 and when way too high... this has all the looks of a desperate last roll of the dice with everything being put onto losing weight... far too much so...
