Greb's resume is a very impressive one. He had an extemely busy fight schedule, even taking into in account boxers were more active in Greb's era.

Here's just some of the peopel Greb fought:

Gene Tunney
Tommy Gibbons
Bill Brenan
Billy Miske
Gunboat Smith
Charlie Weinert
Jack Renault
Qinton Romero Rojas
Tommy Loughran
Maxie Rosenbloom
Jack Dillon
Battling Levinski
Mike McTigure
Jimmy Slatterey
Kid Norfolk
Jimmy Delaney
Young Marulo,
Mickey Walker
Tiger Flowers
George Chip
Al McCoy
Johny Wilson
Mike O'Dowd
Ed McGorty
Frank Mantel
Jeff Smith
Bryan Downey
Mike Gibbon,
Jock Malone
Ted Moore

Throughout history, only a number of fighters can compare to Greb's resume or better it?

Certainly was a busy fighter.

Greb was one of the greats with an absolute sparkling resume. Maxie Rosenbloom had a resume that was just as good if not better than Greb's also.

Greb also had three or four public sparring sessions with Jack Dempsey which by all accounts were of the "no holds barred, full on" variety, and according to press reports was the dominant fighter each time. He picked Tunney to beat Dempsey as he reckoned Gene was too skilled, fast and determined for Jack.

Greb - from my memory of a recently reading a book on the heavyweights - beat nearly 40 heavyweights during his career. The quality and quantity of his opponents is remarkable - even for an era where the best generally fought he best. What a shame there is no film of any of his fights....

Footage of one round of these two sparring is rumored to still exist in a handful of private collections. Put that on the short list of footage I'd like to see someday!

Never heard of any film of Greb sparring (except the mess around with Jack OBrien) or fighting surviving...did hear though that if any were found they`d make the finder a millionaire.

Does anyone have an idea how much a film of him would be worth?

What's amazing is that many old films get tracked down even when people are sure that they are lost.
