Who Should Amir Khan Fight ???

90% of the posts on here critise Amirs opponents, so who do you think he should fight, and be realistic, he aint going to get put in with the worlds number #1
Steffy Bull i think has Ryan Barrett wrote all over it. Still a good match for someone 11-0 thou !
However i think his next bout should have been against a lightwelter who will give him rounds and obviously at a low risk, someone like the french guy he fought a few bouts ago,
Then, Defo Willie Limmond, winable and for a title
remember he aint 21 so they is zero point fighting Thaxton

Yes he's only KO'd two of his opponents.

How about Damian Owen....similar age...and he`ll definetly come to fight
If Khan is as good as the hype that surrounds him then this would be a terrific match-up that would prove something

He might not be a Light Welter, but he gives a good account of himself and has a rock solid chin.

Maybe thats a little bit on the over cautious side.
An ambitious but I think winnable fight for Khan is against this guy.

Khan should be fighting ppl who are a 1/2 level below Meager, or if ambitious a full level below Thaxton. Dave Stewart, Danny Hunt otherwise it just isn't worth wathcing.

Ye I think Damian Owen would be a good shout - He fought at Lightweight the weekend but see he's a light welter which suprised me as he looked small but strong

Anyone with a heart beat, a pair of balls, can take a punch, who has a half decent punch, unlike all of his last opponents who had none of these attributes. Give him a genuine test with a guy who is hungry. Maybe someone like Martin Watson, or Reid

Come on Frank, let's see things done the HONEST WAY, let's have some fights.
There is a huge discrepency in what the papers print ("THAT EXTRAORDINARY BOY" and all the gushy rest) and what serious boxing fans believe ("HAVE A F UCKING FIGHT!").
Casual fans know what they are seeing. In my experience it's the Earl-Katsidis and Woods-Johnson 3 fights that they respond well to.
It's routine for Khan to have blowouts. If we're lucky we get a spoiler.
Get him ready for Thaxton and when that happens it's main event material! Thaxton's title/ability and Khan's Olympic name would make it big.

I would like to see Owen grow as a prospect - perhaps I am a tad bias cause I've thought of Dean quite highly but I was very impressed with his showing. He's had an early set back, but no-one seems to know if that was a home town decision.
I think Owen can progress to British title level (at least) and I don't want a Khan fight to ruin one of our two best prospects. On the showing vs Dean, Owen vs Khan is a tough one to call. I would actually tip Owen over Limond if he can reproduce that form.

A fighter who would "fight for the world title tomorrow" if he could and has been pro for nearly 2 years should be fighting & beating Seda.

Yeah, Lauri would be a good opponent at this point. He's been in with some good fighters, he's a 140 fighter so nobody could criticise Khan for picking on smaller men in this one, but Lauri isn't a puncher and so he's a 'safe' opponent. It'd be a good measuring stick type fight for Khan.
The only problem that i can see would be Warren being concerned that Khan might not look as dominant over Lauri as Hatton and Witter did and thus his stock might lower a bit. I can't see Warren going for this one for that reason.

martin watson went the distance with an under prepared ryan barrett, who in turn got wiped out by Khan in a minute

Seems like Lauri would be good. Lauri does fold faced with soe speed & power i.e. Witter.

Not a bad call, very experienced, doesn't get stopped, good workout for Khan provided the ref didn't jump in there as soon as he starts flurrying.
weird, up until 1995, he had a really good record, and then since then, went into journeyman mode, losing more than he is winning, wonder what happened?

I think a few fights down the line(maybe for his 16/17th?) fight he should fight stefano zoff - past his best, a non-puncher but bags of experience still durable and a former world(WBA) and european champ to boot. He would definitely tell us a thing or two about where khan can go.

At this stage I'm not too bothered about his opponents' win/loss record as long as they can give him something new to deal with/figure out.

I think I read about Steffy Bull in the local rag. Didn't he lose in his attempt for the English title at the Dome & consider hanging 'em up?
