American journo Dan Rafael is reporting that this fight is being set up on the April 7 undercard of Corrales-Clottey on Showtime. He says if not then, then June 9.

Interesting fight.

I think Nicky's inactivity and 8 round marking time fights would be his downfall.

Cook may well be an accident waiting to happen, never seen Luevano fight mind you.

As for the main event, if Clottey's hands gold out i don't see any reason why he can't beat Corrales.

I tend to agree, Steve. I suspect Cook is going to get a rude awakening before too long. Mind you, I haven't seen Luevano either, so I can't really comment there.

As for Clottey-Corrales, I suspect Chico is going to get a bit of a beating here.

I wouldn't be at all surprised states, Clottey is a sleeper IMO. Seen him twice, in with Richard Gutierrez and then Antonio Margarito, he pushed Margarito to the wire with bad hand damage. If his paws had held up i saw him winning the fight, he is very decent.

I think Cook is fighting on the Calzaghe bill.

I do have some Luevano fights on tape - cannot remember them all but I remember being fairly impressed. Would be about 50:50, although I will need a second viewing.

I seem to remember Nicky Cook being in line to fight Gamaliel Diaz in an eliminator and then Robert Guerrero was mentioned, then the Harrison fight fell through. After all that he ends up in with Ramagoadi, when will the step up in levels occur?
