I don't know that Kilrain was ever considered the British Champion, since he was American. He did fight England's champion, Jem Smith, in 106 rounds on December 19, 1887. It was called a draw, but Kilrain knocked Smith down in the 17th. Because of this victory, John L Sullivan claimed that by beating Kilrain 2 years later, he was World Champion.

Dave McCleave beat Chuck Parker in London, April 23, 1936 for the vacant title-Pat Butler relinquished.

Jake Kilrain KOed McCleave in 8, Glasgow, June 2, 1936.

Ernie Roderick KOed Kilrain in 7, Liverpool, March 23, 1939.

We have three Jake Kilrain's in the base, just thankful the question wasn't about Jose Lopez.
