Where to for the "King"?

Where do you see Soliman heading now? I can only assume that he will reignite his Middleweight campaign… so let’s look at his options…

Taylor – I think Soliman’s work rate and awkward style could give Taylor fits. We all know that Taylor tends to wilt toward the end of a fight and Sam could take advantage of this. The question is whether or not Taylor can hurt Soliman, I don’t think so, but I didn’t think Mundine could either…

Abraham – King vs King. I don’t think this fight is likely to happen however it would be an interesting match up. Sam’s advantage is always going to be his work rate and awkward style but would this be enough to get him a decision in Germany (where the fight would no doubt take place)?

Miranda – He is very raw and Sam might be able to frustrate him over the distance however if Miranda can land a few clean shots I dare say Soliman might wobble…

Wright – A rematch that would unfortunately go the same way as the first encounter…

Before he gets a fight of this magnitude he would no doubt have to get one or two good fights under his belt first. Who they will be I have no idea but they should decent foes from the US. Whatever happens I wish Sam all the best!

I spoke to sam a few days ago. His next fight is at the end of May in the USA at Junior Middleweight (154 pounds).

Thanks for the update Hank! I am a bit surprised that he is jumping down to 154... I don't think it will give him any trouble but is is a decent drop. Any idea if this is a full time move or just a one off?

According to Sammy, he can make Junior Middleweight easily. From memory I think he was 157 pounds on the day he fought Winky Wright.

I think you're right Hank, but thought the weight loss since the weigh in (I seem to remember him being at 158lbs at the weigh in and dropping weight) was due to illness.

Regardless, I'd love to see Sam at 154. There's no real dominant champ there at the moment and I think a title shot could be in the offing if he can string together a few good wins.
