Just wondering what the TV situation is for this card.... will it be on BBC NI? What Irish channel (if any) is it being shown on.

Sounds like a cracking card.

I saw the Dunne vs Pickering fight live on the web stream and Dunne looked great and the atmosphere was electric. Dunne could become a saviour of not only Irish boxing but British boxing (I don't want to get into a debate on whether he is Irish or not)... I am just having visions of lots of Irish fans turning up to say Loftus Road to see him against some like a Ponce De Leon. Even though its a great devision, Dunne might have the tools to be a world champion.

Dunne shouldn't have much of a problem vs Jailauov in his first defence of the EBU title - who looked pretty poor getting bashed by Hunter last year. However, the undercard looks intriguing.

Jason McKay is quite a decent fighter nd its a pretty tough match for a combacking Matt Macklin (who will be the favourite). McKay is essentially undefeated and a good boxer. I can see the Irish boys drumming up the winner of this one vs Duddy.

Francis Jones is capable of springing a surprise and who knows what version of Neil Sinclair will turn up.

Chill John represents a step up for young prospect Stephen Haughton and Scott Belshaw is also on the card.

If anyone knows when and where it is televised perhaps I can discuss purchasing a tape/DVD or trading something for this bill.

I'm going over, and had brought a ticket off Matty, but Macklin is off the bill. He sustained a rib injury a couple of weeks back. Francis Jones and Sinclar is off too, Sinclair also pulled out with injury.

The website only over here - although I did hear that you will be able to get RTE by the end of the year

It's RTE 2.

So if anyone of the Irish posters can get RTE 2 with a decent picture, then drop me a PM.

My RTE 2 has a crap picture quality. The Dunne-Pickering fight was shown on RTE 2 if i remember correctly.

Should be a good atmosphere but a rubbish fight I reckon. Hunter had the guy out in 2 and Dunne is more accurate and carries more power in my mind.

It's a poor matchup to be brutally honest, i would have preferred at least a top 10 opponent but you can't blame Dunne's team i suppose for supplying a dud to rake in a few quid (euros!) and get the crowd excited. The Peters team were giving it the "Jailauouv was prematurely stopped versus Hunter" treatment but let's be fair he was out of his depth. Dunne will probably take him within 6 rounds and then bring on Dunne-Hunter i say! Before Dunne moves onto a higher level.

Yeah, it was the McKay vs Macklin fight that I was mostly interested in.

Darren Rhodes is probably a better opponent for McKay at this stage and one in which we can properly assess just where he is going.
