How far do you reckon the following prospects can go,

Amir Kahn
Kevin Mitchell
John Murray
John O'Donnell
Mathew Hall

feel free in adding other prospects if you think they are any good

Out of all of them I'd go for Khan to go the furthest...Although I think he falls short of the expectations of the people around him.

Hall has looked good against limited opposition...But hasn't fought since July...Anyone know if he's injured?

In the WBO eyes all the way Khan already ranked 12 th in the World

I don't know enough about O'Donnell and Hall to really comment, although I'm looking forward to O'Donnell's fight this weekend.

As for the others:

Murray: I was very impressed with him on the way up, he looked European level, although probably no more. But his progress seems to have slowed badly in the last 12/18 months. I know he's had management disputes, which I'm sure haven't helped. As a fighter, I don't think he has enough power to make his style work beyond European level. Right now, as much as I rate him, I think Thaxton beats him on points for the domestic lightweight title.

Mitchell: I've always had my doubts. I know a lot of people were turned off of him from the start, with his bullying of smaller opponents. Myself, I don't really have anything against him having an 'attitude', as it were. But I really don't rate him that highly. There are moments of class, certainly, but he is not the puncher ITV would have you believe, his defence is seriously lacking, and he has been babied more than any fighter I can think of in recent memory. Right now, I want to see him in with Carl Johanneson. I think Carl would expose that leaky defence, and stop Mitchell late, to be honest. But if Kevin won that, I'd be happy to admit I was wrong. I think he needs a decent test sooner rather than later though.

Khan: For all the criticism he gets, he is the one most likely. Like everyone else, I think his competition could, and indeed should, be better. I want to see how well he stacks up to people his own size. Unlike Murray and Mitchell, I can see something about him (notably handspeed) that is world class. But he needs to show it at a higher level than he's done so far. Given the money invested in him, he's probably the most likely of all our prospects to become a 'world champion', although who he'll have to beat to do so is open to debate. I've measured Murray and Mitchell by the current domestic champions, so I'll do the same with Khan. If Khan-Thaxton was made for next weekend, I think Thaxton would outlast the golden boy. If it's made in, say, November, I think Khan can win. He has his critics, but he's also a very talented young man.

Anyway, that's my view.

Will be interesting to see John O'Donnell stepping up. I would tentatively add Darren Barker to that list, always been impressed with him but i thought he would deal with Conroy McIntosh more handily than he did though, turned into a bit of a life and death struggle in the end.

I think Denton Vassell is one to look out for.

How about Damien Owen. Looked very impressive vs Phillips and he's very young also.

Anthony Small - fighting Walther wright. I see British title, maybe WBO...

I reall like O'Donnell
He seems to just have that extra somthing
puts his punches together, calm in the ring
he's explosive!
I think he may be the best of the bunch

I think that Murray can do somthing, he is a Telivision friendly fighter
Makes good all action fights.

I would like Amir to take on Thaxton, that would be a great to see.

Good call on Bhatia he looks the business so far.

Can I name an Amateur fighter in this one - Mo Nassir of Wales. Just saw him defend his WABA title (it was on BBC Wales) - I've always been impressed, but at the weekend he looked the best I have seen him. Really composed in picking his shots.

Still think if Doherty can get his arse into gear he'd be very decent.

stu mc is a big puncher even thou his pro record doesnt indicate the same, he should do well

Interesting call Stu, i think Doherty has found his level. Fringe British title operator, his injury proneness doesn't do him any favours either.

Haven't been that impressed so far, that last KO was a peach though, reminded me of Bob Foster.

Who was the lad they were hyping on secondsout recently, saying people had been very impressed with him in the gyms in America, etc.? I think he fought on the undercard of the Hatton-Urango fight or something, but I can't remember his name.

Was impressed by O'Donnell last week.

I think out of the list mentioned, Khan has the most potential to go places...
