The 'editor' of Uppercut...who couldn't recognise a picture of Joe Louis and therefore picked the wrong one for a piece, messing up one of the very few editorial duties he had to do...was also the owner and had a business plan which equated to:

'get own picture in mag, live out fantasy for a few months, go to the wall owing thousands after messing various good people around'.

It worked a treat

Yet somehow this same snake-oil salesman managed to charm both of us cynical bastards into working for him on a wing and a prayer, and to get WHSmith to stock a totally unheard of magazine on their shelves!

Whilst a useless prat in many respects, he was also an olympic standard bullshit artist!
