i thought minter would lose. i've never rated him at all.

Sounds like he may have been lucky it was only an 8 rounder though.... Still, it is a good win.

he has a bit of talent there.

he's been fighting nothing but journeymen so far.

he needed this sort of test.

I agree, it'll stand him in good stead. I'm not entirely convinced about him, but there's definitely some talent there.

i'm not convinced about world level meself.

all i've said is that he's good enuff to test the likes of jamie moore. most people were just writing him off as all flash.

definitely british level for me.

when he gets to that level we'll see what he could do beyond that.

No, I'm sure it's the best of 7 in total, know Colin Mcneil is still to fight, also Robin Reid, thinking about it, it could be 8, not 100% on that

YEah but if you count the N Wright and Smith results (which frankly should have been) it's 3-3

I know I shouldn't be but I am chuffed Alfonso Gomez won.... he really impressed me in the show and hasn't looked bad since and I expected his career to take off as the peoples champion more than it did. When he features on ESPN undercards to Mora/Manfredo etc - he always gets a huge ovation.

Minter should not get a fight for british title ahead of O Donnell now.

I agree the Smith fight should have counted. However let's be realistic about the Wright fight. He was thrown in with a complete bum who had a .500 record. I don't think that should have counted he fought a replacement.

Looking at the results of the ones that count, it not looking good for us.

I'm just wondering out aloud now, could this actually be VERY bad for the game in the UK.

Exposure is great, but exposure as a poor boxing nation might not be so good.

Look at the typical American view of Naseem - calling him poor chinned with no technique and then follows with "typical British".

Look at the problems Junior Witter continues to had cause of one negative performance.

Could we just be laughed at and then not wanted to know.

True - but didn't Reid fight on the contender so should've counted?

depends if this does become a yearly thing, The US will nearly always have a stronger team than the UK if they want, there just isn't the depth of boxers in one weight division to compete alot of the time.

maybe if it was spread over a few divisions then the uk would stand more of a chance. say 1 fight from each of the origanal weight divisions, from fly to heavy.
