started off with prison, was briefly interrupted by boxing career, and back to prison.
i wonder if anybody who watched jeff sims v jumbo cummings knew the bright futures that lay ahead for those two wonderful gentlemen?

It was apparently the 3 strikes and out bit.
If Bruno had had two more strikes, Cummings would have had him out too!

Didn't Cumming's learn to box from Curtis Hatchetman Sheppard while in jail in the 70's? Is Sheppard still alive, and if so, does anyone know if he is still in jail?

I have yet to find it! Aaargh!
I have promised myself to collate on spreadsheet all articles relating to my interested field i.e. Heavyweights from 70s (+ other pieces e.g. Jumbo Cummings). I looked through my RINGS and it isn't in those. Must be in Boxing Illustrateds........I promise you you will receive it - I will scan. That way (spreadsheet) I will be able to lay my hands on pieces concerning specific fighters. When someone asks when Chuck Wepner was born or how tall Boone Kirkman was and you cannot lay your hands on the article immediately, it is VERY VERY frustrating!!
Bear with me.........

I have Cumming's Illinois Corrections pics and his address in Menard if anyone would like to drop him a line.
Remember when he was whacking the hell out of Bruno? Went the distance with some champs too.

I've seen his fight with Green.Green handled him but everytime he connected solidly with Green, he shook him.
