Figured Mundine might have tried to get easy revenge on Siaca, but Green has nabbed that fight.

So what's Mundine going to do to advance his career? Wouldn't the logical step be Calzaghe? That could be a superfight, IMO.

A Calzaghe fight would end in a defeat for Anthony. He's too good for him, even at age 34. If Mundine wanted the fight I'd say he had the name and clout to make it happen some years ago. There's a good reason why he's barely mentioned it

I think Mundine poses a very difficult match for Calzaghe. Mundine is one of the most naturally talented fighters around and he seems to have matured a great deal, become a much more rounded & aggressive fighter. He is on shit hot form right now and Calzaghe's not faced many classy counter punchers.

It was actually Warren who killed off a fight, by making a very poor offer to stage the fight. This is a fight that really should happen. I honestly don't see much to seperate Calzaghe, Kessler and Mundine as they are right now.

Kessler has beaten him once and he would beat him again. Calzaghe Mundine would be interesting styistically but I don't think Joe a has great deal to gain from it, hang on hear me out here, most people (well probably everyone except yourself) see Kessler and Calzaghe as the clear top two in the division and they are constantly competing with each other for the top spot. I think Mundine-Kessler would end up the same as the first fight except a bit closer on the scorecards,
Mundine-Calzaghe would be interesting as Calzaghe is normally the quicker man in his fights and in this one he wouldn't be. I think Mundine could pull an upset win over Calzaghe who has been severely overrated after exposing Lacy.

At the moment Kessler is the best at 168 which ever way you look at it, He has beaten better fighters in the past 4-5 fights and is cleaning out the division.

Sorry, but who told you Kessler beat Mundine with "relative ease"?

There was nothing "relatively easy" about the fight.

It was Kessler's only competitive fight, and Mundine was giving him nightmares in there. Kessler is normally in control of opponents but he had to play sloppy catchup after Mundine caught him with faster punches...flailing away with Mundine avoiding most of the shots on the ropes.

The shutout scorecard was the most stupid thing I've ever seen and a fairer reflection of the fight would be Kessler winning by 3 points.

The warning signs are all there. Kessler was troubled in their first fight, though he had a poor preparation. The subsequent dominations of Green and Soliman. I find it funny that ppl are actually going to be surprised when Mundine does something big.

In boxing, fighters with big reps from different lands should fight each other. If a promoter can promote, you know, do his job, then it can be made big.

I would love to see Kessler Vs Mundine rematch. I have been a critic of Mundine in the past but I think that is more because of his persona and most likely his failure to acknowledge to anyone that this title is essentially bullsh it. His dad had 10 fights where he fought top contenders, each one of them could have been a title in todays scene. Never the less I believe he could take Kessler because this time he would stand up to him. Anyway it would be a banging match for 4-5 rounds.

by the way I agree with your assessment of the kessler fight. Mundine was never in a position to win it but certainly didn't lose every round IMO

I totally agree Marlin, Another pathetic opponent that is not even a worthy sparring partner.

I'm not sure if anyone else sees this but here goes anyway..........a lot of Sydneysiders seem to go to Mundine fights for the 'event' whereas I know from experience that Melburnites go to big fights mainly for the fight first and foremost

I can guarantee that this fight would sell extremely poorly down here
