Tomorrow night in Cardiff after Amir Khan hopefully wins his fight against Steffy Bull.
In the ringside after fight interview with Amir and allegedly will Jim Rosenthal ask Frank is he going to let Amir go and box in Vegas on May 5th against John Murray. ?

At best, Rosenthal will say something hopelessly noncommittal like "there's been talk". Amir might reply with: "Yeah, if Murray wants to come and fight. End of the day I think it's all talk; he knows I'd beat him..." [Frank interjects.] "That's all gonna happen down the line. Right now you have to look at the sensible options. John Murray could well feature in the future if he puts himself into a challenging position, but for now let's just see how it goes for Amir. Look, the kid's still only..." [Viewers switch over.]

Shithouses ! Barry is getting worse Khan best in Britian now and Khan world champion in 12 months. How can Barry say that especially the world title he surely cannot mean WBC WBA IBF it is nonsense he must mean WBF, WBU ,
http://WWW.COM.
Barry is doing himself an injustice he was a great fighter that did the traditional route and had a world eliminator and beat a legend in his time in winning the title .

i think he meant A world title - not one the credible ones, to be fair. but the stuff about the best lightweight in the country? hhhmmm.

Barry has zero credibility anymore, world champion within 18 months is laughable. Khan wont even fight Thaxton next, one step at a time.

I don't think its laughable... If Khan was a yank and had the likes of Arum/King etc backing him then it is a realistic target.
The talent/ability is there, problem is though he will be guided VERY slowly by his promoter - but I don't think McGuigan could really say that.
Khan, for my money, IS one of the geniune talents of WORLD boxing and he should be let off the leash and I think he'll do well. He won't be let of the leash, but that has nothing to with what McGuigan was saying.
I think Khan has as much talent as Juan Diaz who won a world title at the age McGuigan think's Amir is ready.
18 months is a long time away, and I don't think Thaxton/Earl etc are THAT far away from the likes of David Diaz. He could fight Thaxton in a years time and then go for a David Diaz pretty much 2 fights after.

I said in 18 months time... That could be 7 fights down the road.
I don't think alot of these British fighters who many want to see Khan in with now are a million miles away from Katisdis, David Diaz.
If he's ready for likes of Thaxton now, then why not the likes of Katisdis/David Diaz two fights on from there.
Andre Berto will have a world title fight within 18 months, and I think we have just as big a talent in the UK.

The ITV people including Barry must get paid extra to say the rubbish like 'Khan best lightweight in the world blah blah'.
I think its time for a BIG shake up....
get rid of the ITV's bum boys and get some commentators who have the guts to say it how it is or ask decent questions.
get rid of dean powell
dont show khan's fight twice....once is boring enough!
If ITV renew its contract with FW make sure it has a clause in it saying FW must deliver at least ONE Decent match up per year i.e Haye-Macca, Khan-Murray, Calzaghe-Taylor.

I have really fond memories of Barry McGuigan and have a lot of respect for what he achieved in the ring, but since hooking up with ITV he seems to have lost ALL of the values concerned with how boxer's are being matched. Bull didn't stand a chance. Loads of people knew this as soon as the fight was announced. It was awful to watch.

Depends on how he is managed. At current rate its a no.
Do I think he has the talent to beat some of the current "proper" champions.. in 18 months then yes I do. Yes, the question of his chin must be answered before we can make such a bold prediction... but doesn't those questions occur even for the most ready of "prospects" (I'm referring to the doubts that many people had when Hatton faced Tszyu).
Alot will depend on the champion in 18 months also. I don't think Khan would be ready for someone as strong as Juan Diaz who will be near or at his peak in 18 months, but the likes of David Diaz look very beatable and Julio Diaz/Eric Morales (if he beats David Diaz)/Nate Campbell will be two years longer in the tooth.
