When BBC jettisoned it's boxing coverage 2 years back many on here were lamenting the fact that there was no live boxing on terrestrial TV and that as a result the sport would sink further into obscurity.

When ITV announced they signed up with "FW" (we all know what that stands for right?) and would be showing boxing in prime time Sat. night those same bemoaners were in raptures at the prospect of seeing boxing on free TV again.

Now we have the situation where we can at least watch the latest domestic fights/fix-ups on free TV and all you lot can do is bitch & whine about this or that commentator or the quality of coverage, etc, etc. ad nauseum.

Seems like every other thread after a recent ITV "fight-night" (and I use the term advisedly) is about how deplorable the coverage is.

Now I agree with most of the sentiments expressed here, ie. Mcguigan is selling out, Duke goes over the top, Rawlings is rubbish, ITV are hyping their own, etc. but ENOUGH ALREADY!!

I know it's the British prerogative to whinge but talk about flogging a dead horse.

C'mon Ladies - be thankful for small mercies.

ITV/allegedly boxing is like watching cartoon boxing.

I don't like the new host they have on Sky since the other lad went to Setanta. He always looks like he is about to crack up laughing when he talks, always looks like he is holding it back.

At the end of the day why should we have to put up with crap fights and crap coverage and crap presentation??..... personally if Warren and ITV cant do better than Saturdays fare then I personally wouldnt lament its passing, ...I'm fed up wasting my time watching Warrens protected fighters fighting on his dreary predicatable shows, sugared over by some of the worst presentation that I've ever seen on a sports programm...

I want boxing to continue on ITV but better matchups than we have seen - It worries me if FW doesnt put on decent fights he will lose his contract with them - Talk of Haye v Macca is no good unless there is some chance of it happening - ITV wanted that fight as much as we do, and what did we get friggin Gunn - We are teased into thinking "next time" but next time doesnt seem to happen - OK I may be whinging but I want to see ITV continue to show boxing and one sided, forgone conclusions will not get people glued to their sets - I dont think ITV are getting what they hoped for from FW so he needs to come up with some tasty 50/50 bouts - Mr "next time"FW needs to have a serious think.

Yeah enough of the whining!! Who are we as mere boxing fans to criticise the shambolic events that are being presented to millions of potential fans?

Why is it that ITV only show Sports Network shows? Their bills are always full of crap fights. They should show Hennessy Sports & Matchroom's shows as well. Why not a round-up show of some sort?

Anything that keeps boxing on ITV is a good thing and a bit of competition would make for better promotions, you would think so anyway.

Is that Paul Dempsey who went to Setanta? I haven't had Sky in years now.

agreed. My main thing about Saturday night when chatting to "casual sports fan" mates has been: hey, it was free, can't grumble too much.

If I'd paid out for that however, I would have felt bloody pissed!
