Freddie Roach as a fighter and trainer

Freddie Roach is an outstanding trainer but what type of a fighter was he? I've heard that he fought some very memorable wars and held a world ranking of #7 at one time.

I'd kill to see Chacon vs. Roach. As far as I can tell, no film of it exists. I know that Chacon was down twice in the first. It had to be an awesome war. Has anyone read an account of this fight?

I always thought Roach looked too frail to be a fighter. Surprisingly, although he could box he seemed to prefer to get in prolonged exchanges.
