Where's Audley Harrison?

A few months ago after he defeated a prime Jack Johnson (oops, sorry, I meant a fat, ill prepared Danny Williams, who he should have beaten easily the 1st time around  ), he was going on to conquer the world in 2007 & 8.

As we all know, he gets sparked by a journeyman & then we hear absolutely nothing!

For a man with a gob as big as his, this is surprising.

I thought he'd be chomping at the bit to get back into action & redeem himself.

I remember someone on here calling him parcel force or something, but I don't really think that is apt, as he doesn't deliver at all.

Never has a man promised so much & delivered so little!

He has a terrible punch resistance for a man his weight! Danny williams had a broken nose, and carried on fighting! Fraudley would probably cry.. I would still like audley to carry on, as he has the potential to become a champion, even if its just at british level.
I doubt he'll be able to come back now. He was always overly cautious anyway, looked like a rabbit in the headlights every an opponent came at him. Getting sparked like that by Sprott will now have given him too much of a mental block to overcome IMO. Although I agree he has skill and good power.

Fair play to the bloke, he got paid 1 million off the BBC for spanking no hopers, he has got to made a few quid since then also fighting mediocre opposition on primetime TV.....So for a boxer who was shit to watch and was limited in skill he has made a lot more than some world champions have/will ever make, who is the mug?

The reason I think he was so negative was not the fact he couldn't box, he knew he had no chin whatsoever.

Well said!!!!!!

It's really narks me that he has become rich out of a sport that he has neither the heart nor the stamina to compete in!

A good fight for him to come back with would be vs Gammer, as he was supposedly trying to get a fight with him before the Sprott fight... also a 3rd Williams match would be interesting, I know some will say I'm nuts but after their first two fights I'd be interested to see who comes out on top in a 3rd... so there are still a few interesting fights out there for Harrison if he really wants them, but if he plans a long layoff and then thinks he can rebuild with some soft touches he'd better forget it... the only way he can hope to salvage things is to comeback with a win against a decent opponent.... personally I cant see him doing it...

I actually watched it again about a week ago (call me a sadist!) and it was actually a bad ko... Audely looked concussed quite a while after the end...

Audley was in the background at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium.

Perhaps he could start by updating his website with the pictures from the Sprott fight.

I saw him on his website last week saying any unbiased person who watched the fight could see he is not finished because of how well he boxed rds 1 & 2. He did seem quite good humoured about getting chinned though.

Kevin McBride or Scott Gammer in Crossroads fights would make sense. He needs to get his arse in gear though.

Does seem bleak for the big fella though. I know as "this is heavyweight boxing" cliche but realistically Sprott doesn't usually knock anyone dead. And i've watched Sprott since 1998!!

I must have been watching a different fight, because from what I saw, Sprott was just biding his time.

He suffered a flash knockdown granted, but other than that, he just waited patiently for Audley to stop punching, then bumrushed him with crude attacks, which scared the knickers off Audley.

We all know that Audley get's tired when scared, thanks to his dreadful stamina & by the 3rd he was wilting, that's why he was KO'd.

Well I guess a fight at the Crossroads Motel is one step short of the big Las Vegas Casino's.

As Trigger said; "Yeh, we checked in to a motel - I didn't tell 'em I didn't have a car."

Audley should hang them up or start again facing some very low competition to get a decent win streak and build back some confidence a bit in the Oleg Maskaev way...

I heard that he auditioned to be a stunt double for the actor who plays Rose's boyfriend on Doctor Who, but the producers decided that he didn't look "tough enough".

Audley turned out to be a huge fraud and deceived the British public for years into thinking he was going to be a world class boxer! All this "sympathy drive" or whatever it could be called led by Ben Cohen amongst others at Secondsout holds no water with me either, i have no sympathy for the man in the slightest.

He badmouthed his rivals and swaggered about spouting off contempt for other Heavyweights while backing up not one single boast in the ring. Beating up a fat, close to shot Danny Williams and calling for a world title shot the man was deluded.

He made his bed and now he has to lie in it. Literally after that Sprott left hook.

The two of you are embarassing.

You cant honestly believe at 35 and after 2 clueless passionless performances v Williams & Guinn and sparked cold by non-hitter Sprott that Harrison has any talent or future?

Guys find someone with some more substance to get behind, you are only going to be disappointed again. This is not going to end with the 2 of you 'looking smart'.

Laughable.

I'm an Audley fan and I always will be, I want him to do well, but now I'm more realistic about what he'll achieve. I'm an Albion fan so I'm used to being let down.

Don't take it all so serious

I reckon Audleys still got a surprise or 2 up his sleeve.

One Audley Harrison
Theres only one Audley Harrison

I know, i remember you telling us just how good he is and the day he finally stepped up and faced a world class heavy he was going to surprise us all & demolish them.

I cant see why anybody would like Audley. He ran his mouth so much and treated better, tougher fighters with so little respect, then got himself sparked by a journeyman.

When i think of Audley, i think of Audley minders not allowing Dominic Negus into his dressing room to congratulate him. "He's not interested". Dominic said "well will you tell Audley im here with my disabled father who would like to meet him" his minders came back and told Dominic "hes still not interested".

Thats Audley Harrison. A complete c#nt all the way who got what he had coming to him. If you want to root for a british heavy with no chance in world class, at least root for nice guy honest pro's like Sprott or Williams.
