Calzaghe-Manfredo.....A Poor Show?!!

Hope this isn't seen as spamming. Anyway i did a piece on the Calzaghe - Manfredo bill for a site and noticed it had been put up on the Current board and not here where possibly it would be of more interest. I was going to post my reasons why i thought it was a pretty, well POOR card but I'm lazy so the link should take you to it. Its not too long and is as much about the undecard fights including Locket, Pryce, Khan and Enzo Mac as it is the main event.
Any way hope who ever takes the team to read it through enjoys it or cares to comment.

A Poor Show

Having had a week to reflect on last Saturday's allegedly allegedly Promotions bill at The Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, I still find myself coming to the same conclusion. That being what a poor show. That’s not to say that the venue was not adequate, the set up inept, or the facilities below par at the always impressive Welsh national arena, which had its capacity reduced to roughly 33,000 on the night and was a sell out. It also must be pointed out that two world champions were on show, defending their crowns, which is somewhat rare for any bill these days. Indeed, the two defending champions in question were cruiserweight hot property Enzo Maccarinelli and pound for pound rated super middleweight top dog Joe Calzaghe.
I even accept that this was as much a showcase and celebration of the best boxing talent Wales has to offer as it was a major world title bill. However, despite all of that, I can not help but be bitterly disappointed at the predictability of the outcome of most of the bouts. I'll get to the main event later, but let’s start off with maybe a bout which most people watching at home probably didn't notice but was actually covered rather briefly in the UK television round-up of the undercard. ...Read more...
