A lot of people here think he is either too big for his boots, or like me think he is an accident waiting to happen :)

But let's look at the positives:

Good work rate, very good hand speed, good inbred stamina, dedicated trainer, willing to listen? and he laps up performing in front of a big crowd.

Those attributes on their own are going to see him progress to a very decent level, so looking at where he goes from here. I woulda say there are two clear fights he will be steered towards, and that is Limond and Earl.

Limond has re-established himself since the Arthur defeat and is a tidy little operator that lacks a knockout punch.

Earl, again is a tidy fighter, but in my opinion has been to the well once too many times - That fight with Kastidis has taken a lot out of him. He could be ripe for the picking.

Either way I think both fights represent a decent step up for Khan, and being honest, if he's capable enough then why hold him back any longer. I guess Wárren will make one of the above fight's this year, but will have sweaty palms when it comes to inking the deal :)

One fight I don't think he is ready for is Thaxton - Khan and co (i.e barry mac) have made a bit of PR cock up to state he can beat him now, but won't fight him now.

So I was just wondering what you would say are his best attributes, and what fight they should be looking to stear him towards next.

Im sure Oliver harrison pushes his lads pretty hard in the gym, moorseys stamina is second to none so I think Khan will be fine on that front. how many other novices fight 10 round fights in their 10th (was it - cant be arsed checking) fight.

Its clear the kid has bags of talent, and I can see him progressing beyond europen level. As for proper world honours - why not, its all pie in the sky until we see him tested, and to be fair his level of opposition hasnt been all that bad, really.

Just a British trait to stick the boot in I suppose, I mean how old is he, 20 ?

Is he a two year pro yet?

amir khan will be demolished when he faces someone who will hit him back. i think steffy bull is a disgrace to the sport, he was paid great money to dance around and make amir look good on american t.v. i'm ashamed.

I'm not someone who wants to see Kahn in with someone like Thaxton just yet, IMO there's nothing wrong with bringing a fighter along slowly, as long as he fights often and there is a learning curve. The problem I have is I just don't see what he's learning fighting the guys he is in with at the moment. I'd much rather see him in with a seasoned guy with a losing record who might actually pose him a few new problems than a superfeather weight with a record that looks good on paper but can't punch and is only going to try and survive.

Khan has the potential to be a very, very good, world class fighter.

He's still young - what we all get pissed off about is how the fights are packaged to Joe Public when we know the opponents aren't up to much. Plus, his daft comments didn't do him any favours.

I reckon he would give both Earl and Thaxton good arguments right now. I don't think his opponents are teaching him anything at the moment though.

allegedly really lets his fighters shrink in our estimation of them. Then after much scorn they surprise us. Khan is a huge talent. He's skipped a huge amount of amateur learning/experience so the kid gloves being on are understandable.

I felt that 10 rounder was a step in the right direction because Amir fought a guy that was cagey and hard to hit. The Bull type fights don't do anyone any good, however. Sad to say Bull could neither protect himself nor hit back.

In the early betting Khan is 3rd favorite for Sports Personality of the year

i'd just like to see him come through a hardish fight where he really has to work for his win. Earl should be the guy the give it to him and I hope it happens within the next 2-3 fights

Well, personally I'm sick of the Amir roadshow, the quicker this wee fanny gets starched the better for me. I dont sit on the fence on this one, dont like the pudendum, dont understand why people pay good money to see him fighting stiffs. Let see him in with someone with a heartbeat first to see if he is the next coming of Naz, which I personally doubt.
The thing that annoys me even more is the normal guy in the street thinks he is the most unbelievable fighter born, ever. :x And they usually dont believe when I tell them that it's all hype, and that he has still to prove he can take on a decent fighter

That is so true. I know people from work and similar 'associates' etc laddish type of guys who like sports and claim to love their boxing (the guys who never know any names or weights or any actual fights) and they all seem to think Khan is sh#t hot.
