I wonder when Carl wil fight again? He should have one more british fight then go fo EBU title. Who should he fight next it be good if it was Mitchell.

With his mandatory done (wasn't it Burns)... Johanneson only needs one more fight to get the lonsdale. I think a quick defense against someone he should overcome comfortably (Henry Castle would have been ideal) before an onslaught on either Kevin Mitchell or the EBU route.... maybe Alex Arthur then.

I'd like to see him fight Kevin Mitchell.

It's a crying shame that Alex Arthur gave up the European belt, because I'd love to see Arthur-Johanneson.

Echoing others though, I would be absolutely delighted if we saw Carl in against Kevin Mitchell next. Mitchell has had the big build up since he turned pro, but he's been so protected it's untrue. If he were to fight and beat Johanneson, I'd happily give him credit. However, I suspect Johannsson would beat him with something to spare: too seasoned, too hard-hitting, and basically too good.

Mitchell has the power to trouble Carl though too he couldn't rush Kev like he did with Burns though.

It can make a good fight.

I agree, Johanneson would have to be wary of Mitchell. Kevin is nowhere near the puncher ITV make him out to be, but he's quite a sneaky counter-hitter. However, I think the bigger issue is what would Mitchell do when being hit hard and often, as Johanneson would most likely do? It's a good, common-sense fight. I don't think the Leeds man is world-class, but I do think that anyone with pretensions of being world-class should be facing and beating people of Carl's level.

If i was a match maker i would put him in with Manuel Medina.

There has been an ongoing dispute between Carl and his Management, and there were concerns that this would affect his performance against Burns.
He came through that well.
Carl and his Management have now officially split, and as a consequence Rick's Management licence has been suspended, and he's been ordered to pay Carl £6000.
Now it's all a question of hearing from Carl's new team, and then I'm sure there'll be news of the next fight.
Dominic and John Ingle have been working with him so good luck to them all, because I think Carl has every chance of being very successful.

I'm sorry to learn that Johannson and Manners have parted ways. I thought they had a good thing going.


For me it would more a case of Mitchell fighting Johannson next. Excellent match with both titles of the line.

Obviously the British fans will probably be deprived of this treat because of the SN angle, so he'll probably have to look at another young gun to defend against they seem in short supply at the moment.

The first time I saw Carl a couple of years back, when he first returned from the states, I was very impressed with him indeed. I thought I saw flashes of world class, and was surprised when he got turned over.

You can see the philly in him in the way he fights, compact, tight stance, nice combination punching, and aggressive.

Think i'd like to see him in against Kirakosyan for the Euro title, Carl has alot to prove against that guy after getting stopped in a round against him.

I know Arthur doesn't get much from the fight, but I'd love to see them square off. Carl has a bit of the Goxez's about him .......and what a fight that was

I'd like to see him in with Mitchell too, but I feel that Warren may well avoid a gamble like that if he can. I think that Mitchell is far too open for someone who throws as many shots (and carries such a respectable dig) as Johanneson. It'd be a real test for Mitchell and there are no signs that he's going to be matched in that fashion.

Aside from Mitchell, I think that Carl should go the European route and look at a rematch against Kirakosyan. I think Johanneson has improved vastly since the first fight, and a return would be very winnable.
