Moorer/Steward?

They parted ways after the classic Moorer-Cooper fight back in 1992. If they had stayed together, what difference would/could this have made to Michael's career?

I have no doubt in my mind that Moorer was a sharper, better conditioned athlete under Steward's tutelage. However, he started slipping under Steward, and likely would have gone the route he did with whoever he was with. Part of it may have been motivation, part may have been the unnatural weight. I also think Moorer had chin and defensive liabilities that were there with Steward from the beginning, and they never resolved themselves. But overall, Moorer was much more active and ferocious under Steward. He subsequently threw less and became much more cautious and boring.

He left Steward after icing Bronco Billy Wright in 2 rds on the Bowe/Holyfield undercard.

Sure enough a new, boring Moorer showed up with George Benton, more defense obsessed. But still very good.

Then in 94 he gets Teddy Atlas, who seems more interested on being dramatic on camera and making theatrical speeches than offering any technical insight.

Moorer was most dangerous under Manny Steward. Moorer wanted to bring back Steward fro the Holyfield rematch but Manny declined.
