This sunday the doors open at the Aston Events Center (formerly the Aston Villa Leisure Center)for an afternoon of homegrown fighting.
Topping the Bill "Sweet" D Mitchell goes into his 1st 8 rounder against Dewsburys Tye Williams.Mitchell has won 5 out of 5 and is being tipped as a decent prospect by some observers.
Also on the bill is the debut of former young England Rep Thomas " The Natural" Costello. Costello is a very talented 18 year old who is making his pro bow against Nottinghams Dennis Sirjatros.Big things are expected of Tom.
Also on the bill is birminghams very own Max Maxwell and James Mckinley both are fighting at light middle.
Rounding up the card is Slugger Ben murphy making his second appearance for Team Ringside and Craig Johnston whos back after 18 months out and looking to make his mark.
The tickets are priced at 25 quid and if you want to watch birminghams future champions making their way come along the doors open at 4.00 PM.
All the Brummies are trained by former world champion Ritchie Woodhall and promoted by Ringside Promotions.

Will be interested to hear how Costello gets on – his dad is the coach at Chelmsley Wood I think and he was a good junior.

McKinley is always in cracking fights as well – its good to see the Ringside team expanding and going from strength to strength.

Any chance of getting some of these up and comers on a Sky show??

I really rate D; he's a fighter that could do something on the domestic scene. He is a good switch-hitter, has good footwork, uses upper-body movement and pounds shots home with his quick hands.

Max is improving with every fight too. He is picking his punches and taking his time after a scrappy debut. Max easily outboxed Tyson-clone Sherman Alleyne last month.

And anyone who has seen McKinley fight knows what he is all about! Loves a scrap but has good ringcraft and a nice long jab.

As for young Tom, he has a massive future ahead of him. He won more-or-less everything on the Junior amateur scene.
