I'm going to stick my neck out, and say De la Hoya, late stoppage.

(this is a case of heart ruling head)

Mayweather on points for me too.

Oscar early. I know its not the logical pick - Floyd to win in a dull fight is the logical but I have always thought Mayweather has a slight technical flaw against the left hook as he throws his overhand right.

To put my money where my mouth is, I will put a big bet on it. If it comes off, it will be the mother of all nights out in Vegas. If it doesn't come off, losing a couple of thousand bucks in Vegas is hardly a big deal is it?

I'm going for DLH on points, I think he's just too big for Mayweather to deal with and although Mayweather may start well and get ahead I think he'll feel the power and strength as the fight goes on.

De La Hoya to win..late stoppage.

Mayweather hasn`t shown a real punch since 140lb...no way can he hurt Oscar.
But Oscar has the punch to rattle just about anybody at lt-middle.

Mayweather may sneak the early rnds, but it`ll only take one punch off Oscar to turn the whole fight upside down...he`ll land it later rather than sooner.

Damn, you got some big old balls with that bet.... I really hope you are right and win big though:
1) because you are a good guy and
2) because floyd is an asshole

interesting Loynesy, i am convinced Oscar wont win by ko/tko, i am looking on some bet sites to back against people. Enjoy your trip. i might go to the rematch

I think Floyd is in for a torrid time after all that smack talk, look at what happened to the others that tried it? I think Oscar will be the agressor from start to finish, as there is NO way Floyd can hurt him, which should please the judges if it goes to the cards, but i think if he lands a couple of those left hooks it could be over much earlier.

heart (and a dream I had and posted about) says Oscar by ko but my head says floyd on points.

On paper you'd have to say Mayweather on points.
But i'd love to see De La Hoya win, so i'm going to say it will be a KO win for Oscar, in round 4. First 3 rounds will be a cakewalk for Mayweather, then Oscar lands a big left hook and its good night Mayweather.

How about that for a precise prediction.

Really tough to call, lots of potential scenerio's.

Really don't know but when this fight was first mooted many moons ago (when Floyd was a Super Feather and Oscar a Welter) I thought DLH easy. I don't think easy anymore, but I'll still stick with the hunch of DLH.

How.... either mid round KO or points. I think Mayweather is too disciplined/skilled to be caught late on. But I think DLH will tag him in the mid rounds and either KO him, or maybe Floyd go into a shell and pick up rounds.

The odds are pretty short for the draw on this one, as short 14/1 in some places.

Floyd will win on points easy. He just looks near enough unbeatable, even with Oscar stacking the odds in his favour, weight wise and knowing he's the only one in there capable of hurting the other guy.

The KO punch is Oscar's ace in the hole, and his only chance maybe, but I reckon Floyd is good enough to avoid any disasters on his way to sending DLH into a golden sunset.

Mayweather outspeeds Oscar (who I'd love to win). Points decision.

Highly doubt Mayweather by stoppage will be the outcome. I thought Oscar looked good against Mayorga but Mayorga was right there to be hit unlike Floyd and now De La Hoya is another year past his best. If Floyd decides to trade at some point instead of move and counter then I think we'll see an upset. Oscar is strong and determined enough to press Floyd for 12 rounds but I'm going for Mayweather on points as I think he'll just be that extra bit quicker.

Anyone know whether open scoring will be used?

De La Hoya on points (controversial)

Call me a cynical old bastard but i think that De La Hoya gets given this even if it's a gift to set up the rematch. There's just too much money to leave this to chance. Floyd has been talking about the 'inevitable' rematch for ages already.

I fancy De La Hoya to get this one.

I can see why people would go for Mayweather, he is the more talented fighter, all things being equal, but to me he's up against unquestionably his best opponent thus far, and things will be far from equal in there. Oscar's bigger, stronger, and he hits harder than anyone Mayweather has faced up to this point and I think Floyd will be really surprised just how very strong De La Hoya is come Saturday. I can see him going into his shell very early on and just trying to fiddle his way to a decision. That's okay for the Baldomirs of this world, but Oscar isn't just a big journeyman-come-good welterweight. I think he breaks Mayweather down and stops him late.

Floyd has silky skills, tremendous speed and a superb defence, plus Oscar will have been out of the ring a year.

So, with that said, i go for Floyd on points.

I dont believe Hoya will outbox him, so he has to impose himself to win this fight, and I think he will - Oscar is the winner for me.

On saying that, I wouldnt be at all surprised to see Mayweather box his ears off.

Damn. I wish I'd have thought of putting a fence-sitting disclaimer on the end of my post.

When this fight was first mooted, my first response was that Floyd was at his peak, and Oscar was that bit past it enough to let Floyd win. Oscar's win over Mayorga I thought was a bit of a smokescreen, as Mayorga is about as hard to hit as an elephant's arse, and I wasn't impressed as some by that result.

However, the fight was first mooted at 147, and is now happening at 154, which I think is a smart move on Oscar's part. Floyd is not going to be strong enough to hurt Oscar, and Oscar will certainly be able to hurt floyd, if he can land cleanly enough.

If Castillo could push Floyd hard, then surely the smarter and bigger Oscar can. I know Castillo is often talked about as a big 135 lber in his prime, but we saw how almightily he struggled at 140 last time out against a strong fighter who was natural at the weight.

Oscar may surprise a lot of people by trying to outbox Floyd rather than pressure fight him and falling into traps, and I think this fight could end up a bit like Leonard and Hearns, with Oscar having to pull something out of the bag.

I'm going to stick with Oscar, despite my wanting to change my pick. Oscar by late rally stoppage or majority decision, but he will have to take the last few rounds to win it.
