Best ever fight live, boxers talk about the big fights shown on ITV in the past

Yeah that wasn't a bad program, looks as if someone actually spent some time finding out good clips, makes a nice change.

And i've never noticed Brian May and Anita Dobson in the crowd for Benn v Watson before. That Dobson was shouting her head off, looked right scary

I hope bith ITV and Warren can learn from shows like this. I didn't see it all but intend to. It was great viewing the bits I saw.

I have found the Contender UK vs US great viewing (a shame they just showed Small vs Wright once and with little advertising... seems like most of us missed that one). According to Warren's article, it has been the biggest ratings hit on ITV 4.

It shows that boxing can still draw the ratings if done properly in terms of presentation and quality of fights. All the matches have been 50:50 or the American the favourite. Such a refreshment to see the ESPN with John Rawling, instead of Duke.

If anyone did tape the Wright vs Small show, let me know.

It was a good show I enjoyed it, although it seems they have to get Barry to repeat that he thinks Calzaghe is the best British fighter ever on every appearence now.

Enjoyed seeing Honeygahn, have seen a few of his fights though oddly enough not the Curry one, he looked so sharp.

I find Teddy Atlas an excellent commentator, his insight and passion really add to the enjoyment. It is also good to hear a commentator free to say exactly what he thinks!

I do think Teddy has a little thing about the schooling of the British boxers. I think he does hold the stereotype view (slightly) that we produce good horizontal fighters. I think him and John Rawling have countered off each other well and I am glad John is there for the Brits.

It was a great response from Teddy in the Minter vs Curiel fight when John said something like "Its such a shame that Minter cuts" and Teddy said "Well, if he moved his head he wouldn't cut". It was also a terrific response to Barry's comments last night that Conception needed to box. It was clear the only way Conception was going to win was via a KO.

Just going back to the show, did the Brits have a fair old size advantage in all of the bouts. So far thats three where the brits were bigger.

I think Rawling's been very good in commentating for the Contender. Nice foil to the (sometimes) preachy and unbearable Atlas.
