If he passes his medicals with the BBBofC then he will be fighting, yes. Nice to see Boxrec's schedules up to date - BBN have had this fight up sicne mid-April when he sparred at Fortress Birmingham.

If Witherspoon is allowed to fight on a BBB of C licensed show it is a disgrace. Nice guy, fit for his age, but boxing would look bad and the board plain stupid if the old lad got badly hurt.
This cannot be allowed to happen

See Dale Crowe who at one time couldnt of carried Greg Pages jockstrap and what unfolded in that fight.
I love Big Tim too much to approve of this shit.

After what happened to Greg Page, I wouldn't want to see this fight to be honest. There's a few notable examples of fighters like Archie Moore and Foreman who could fight into middle age but for most it's a one way ticket to some degree of mental impairment or physical disability, and that's just fuel for the abolitionists.

Jonny Pegg, a former pro himslef, will match him sensibly - that much is certain. Anyway, Tim is not 100 per cent on the bill yet.

A man of 50, period, should not be in the ring. This is madness, and the board must say no. If not they are jeopardising the name of the sport

People make all sorts of mistakes through their own choice, that doesnt make it right though, ...I dont blame Tim I blame the people who are boosting their wallets by having Witherspoon fight, and the inevitable yes men who have most likely been telling him he's still got it and how great he looks in the gym etc, etc... where will these people be if Tim gets injured though?.... boxing is a brutal sport and the people running it should know better than to encourage or allow fighters to make comebacks at 50!!....
