This on paper has a taste of a WAR. It would be entertaining while it lasts. Who wins. I pick Escalera. Both fighters throw an excess amount volume of punches without giving a backward step. A boxing fan would leave the arena with his money's worth.

Sad to see Chico's name here, I find myself wishing I could declare this thread "off topic", because it belongs in the "Current Scene".
I'm inclined to run this theoretical on the simulator....I'll probably run it this evening and post it for you. I gotta say I still haven't come to grips with the loss of this young warrior. His birth year was 1977, He just seems far to young to be discussed in the B.O.T.P. I'm not even sure he had turned 30 yet.

I ran this once and once only with all random settings regarding judging and rules.....I deeply wish Diego would have had this kind of luck yesterday while biking....

Am I the only one that finds this a little insensitive?

Escalera wins. Corrales was good but Escalera was very good.

Hey Rocko....sorry you feel that way....There seemed no disrespect meant from the asker of the question and for myself I certainly meant none. It can be difficult to know just how everyone will feel in the wake of events such as this. Different folks have different sensibilities on these matters and rightly so. Diego's warrior spirit is above reproach in my estimation. And to imagine how he might have done against other greats only honors that spirit IMHO. That's certainly my intent in offering it up.

Hey Buzz, sorry for the rant...I suppose I should know by now that no harm was meant by either elmer or yourself and both of you have noted Diego's spirit and I suppose this should have been seen as a compliment to his courage, determination and warrior ethics rather than misinterpreted by myself as insensitive. But it was good enough of you to mention that other people do have different sensibilities when it comes to matters like this. I just found it hard to read posts in the current scene hearing the tragic news, then as always I moved on to read the boxers of the past of which people also expressed their sympathy and comments. And then suddenly 'Chico' is in his 1st match-up in the boxers of the past forum, that just found me with my guard down. I suppose I just didn't expect to see it, but that doesn't make it wrong. Thank you for the reply to my initial comments and I hope I didn't cause any unease.
Regards,
Rocket
