I wonder whether Froch will go through with a Adamu rematch...Pointless match but if the money is right will Hennessy let him turn up!
WARREN TO STAGE FROCH DEFENCE
Top promoter allegedly has won the right to stage Carl Froch's Commonwealth Super-Middleweight title defence against Ghana's Charles Adamu.
Purse bids were opened on Monday at the British Boxing Board of Control's headquarters in Cardiff and the winning bid delivered by Warren will once again ensure that Froch gets one of his biggest ever paydays courtesy of a rival promoter.
The amount bid by Warren is believed to be double that of Froch's own promoter Mick Hennessy.
Warren will put the fight on at the M.E.N Arena in Manchester on Saturday 22nd September.

Why would he bid for such a fight? Whats he up to?
Trying to provide ITV with a solid fight where nothing is at risk (for him)?

You got it in one...One of the only truly competitive fights that ITV have shown is Woods vs. Johnson...And guess what? That was no risk to him.
He should concentrate on making Calzaghe/Kessler- rather than trying to get 160 lbers to jump up a weight!

Warren did have a stake in Woods-Johnson 3 - the IBF light heavy crown for Calzaghe. Presuming Johnson won. Which he didn't.
Does FW have eyes on Froch, knowing that Joe is near the end? Or does he just want to embarrass the competition, by saying 'I gace Froch his biggest purse."

Strange that on Warren's website that he says he'll hold it on the 22nd at the MEN arena when it is obviously booked up.
The 22nd was the date that was being mooted for Calzaghe/Taylor in Londin wasn't it?
Froch on the undercard would pave the way for a future matchup. If they throw Amir Khan on the bill as well, it would please HBO and ITV and be quite a nice card.

Warren sees big potential in getting Froch on one of his bills and pleasing ITV - Big money for Froch, Warren saves his contract with ITV and we get to see a fight most of us dont really want to see again - However Froch gets audiences no matter who he fights so viewing figures should be good.

I think its pretty obvious FW would like Froch in his camp and have him as a successor to Joe - If Froch does get tempted by money and exposure on ITV and goes with Warren we wont be seeing him fight Kessler, Inkin, Mundine etc for quite a while as his career will be slowed right down - FW wont put loads of money into Froch and then risk him on the likes of Kessler - Joe will probably have to quit with hand problems and the Taylor fight if it happens may be his last - It would be a great move for FW if he did win Froch over but we would have to wait a lot longer to see Froch in with true world class opponents.

seems he wants to keep that WBO title in the post Calzaghe era. Will be interesting. Inkin is at least the equal of Froch, is rated one ring above Froch, and is promoted by German powerhouse Universum.

Carl's last fight was like 2 months ago, shame we have to wait until September to see him back in action, not like he has time on his side..
I remember the first fight I saw of Froch's was against this Adamu on BBC, they hyped him up as best prospect in world boxing but put in a disappointing performance. Adamu is a tough nut but obviously Froch has improved since then so lets hope he does a number on him. Rematch does seem a waste of time mind.

Not surprised by Franky's move here, he is trying desperately to grab the attention in the middle of negoitiations for a TV deal, it really is a very desperate move and it shows for me how much confidence he has in his own fighters when he has to bid for others to appear on his shows. When fighters from his own promotional company are desperate for regular fights Franky bids over the odds for a fight that has no relevance to him, how is that going to make his fighters feel?

looks like a mix of reasons. one of the surely is to show up rival outfit hennessey. another to win over froch who could get joe's title when joe vacates. yet another to actually put some quality on a show maybe for thr TV deal?
but froch is nerly 30 and this is old ground.
