Matt Skelton defends his Commonwealth heavyweight title against Michael Sprott, a rematch of their 2004 clash in Reading which ended with a win for Skelton.

Now the pair meet again at Dockland's ExCeL Arena - and Warren is adamant he will match whoever emerges victorious with one of the four heavyweight world champions.

"I will guarantee one of these guys will fight for a world title," said Warren.

"I don't want to say we are going for a particular world champion, but I believe we are in a strong position because we bring British TV into the equation. We also bring good fighters and big gates.

"We can achieve a world title fight. I am not going to elaborate on who it will be at this moment in time because we are working on all the champions."

As for the fight itself, Warren says that despite Skelton's previous win, it will be close.

"They have a lot to go for," said Warren. "It's an intriguing fight. Michael Sprott produced an absolutely stunning result last time out when he pole-axed Audley Harrison, while Matt is probably number one in the country right now.

"I think their styles will produce a good fight."

During a telephone conference call last week, Sprott blamed his 2004 defeat at the hands of Skelton on undisclosed "personal problems" he was suffering at the time.

"I lost the fight," he said, when asked how much they affected his preparation. "But it is history and I don't want to go into it."

Now he not only has the chance of revenge, but the opportunity to perhaps land a rematch with the only man to have comprehensively beaten him since that Skelton defeat, current WBA champion Ruslan Chagaev.

"As soon as I lost to Chagaev (TKO8) I asked him for a rematch," said Sprott. "He's surprisingly easy to hit for a southpaw, so I'd fancy my chances against him.

"My confidence is so high after the Harrison win, but this fight against Skelton is the biggest of my career. There is so much on the line for me."

For his part, Skelton said he was keen to nail down his long-talked about world title chance - but insisted he wasn't looking beyond Sprott.

"Frank is one of the biggest promoters in the world and I believe he can get me that shot," said Skelton. "I'm confident it can be done.

"But I can't take Michael lightly. He showed how dangerous he can be when he knocked Audley Harrison and he is a very live opponent right now."

YEA RIGHT, lets see if he'll put that guarantee in writing with penalties if it isn't delivered

Don't be surprised if the winner gets a WBO shot in London. Both Briggs and Ibragimov would jump at the chance at a relatively easy payday.

The WBC, WBA, and IBF do not rank either. I disagree with that though, in this barren scene both men are top 15 heavies. Some of the guys in the top 10 are inferior to Skelton & Sprott, but alas, you cant challenge if your not ranked.

Well now FW has cancelled his show, ITV would be foolish to show him any more faith... go the sky route and put the worthy cards on. Id happily include FW in that IF the cards as a whole were worth it. FW (and his stooge) surely have to admit that the Millenium show fights that were shown were by and large an embarrasment, and the result of poor matchmaking

ITV should drop Allegedly and go for the SKY approach of using any promoters who give them the best fights. Then a healthy ITV and SKY rivalry might develop.

On another note say ITV drop Boxing, where will Barry go? His recent stint on the MSG network for Duddy-Bonsante may have been a hint of some alternative work once ITV give Frank the boot and do away with Boxing, Barry will have no one to cheerlead for.

Sorry, but I find this cynicism disgusting. Do you lot really think the Sprott/Skelton winner is not guaranteed a shot at a world title?

I mean just look at the facts:

Already, Skelton is in the top 10 with one of the WBO. If he's talking with all four champions, then obviously the winner will get a top 15 ranking with the champion who agrees to face Britain's finest.

The fact that the WBC's title is sewn up for at least a year means nothing.

Especially, as Frank says, given the fact that a fight with Skelton or Sprott will bring the British TV rights. I mean, ITV are obviously going to fork out millions for a world title fight held at around 4 in the morning, if the fight were to take place in America. And if Sprott won, why, the big promotors would be falling over themselves to pick up a guy with a 30-10 record, and has already lost to one of the belt holders.

Please, trust Frank. He's told us the winner of the domestic clash will get a title shot. The law of averages clearly dictates his promise will come to fruition before 2016.
