Should be a good one. More interesting, to my mind, than Power-Booth.

So, why did Power pull out?

And is Reid the only domestic Light Welterweight who was willing to fight Olusegun?

Shame that Power has pulled out, think the Olusegun fight will be over quickly. Reid is brave , but Olusegun is a different class to him.

It will be very interesting to see how Ajose takes Reid's bodyshots. And if he can stop Reid, who hasn't been halted since Mutley took care of him in seven back in 2003.

Reid's win over Hickman sounds impressive, but Hickman has been stopped everytime he's stepped up near British level. Olusegun will have the size advantage and will be too much all round. Reid isn't a spoiler either and I can see him being stopped in 4.

I was looking forward to Power-Booth, would have been a good fight.
I feel Reid is more of a gatekeeper to good domestic class and above and the African is at least that good.

Reid has upset area champions and prospect like Hickman, O'Reilly and Oscar Hall but has failed consistantly in championship class.
He was stopped by Bradley Pryce, Young Muttley and Barry Morrison as well as being stopped by decent prospect Paul Halpin and Martin Watson.
He also has a recent points loss over the decent Nigel Wright.

Olusegun is a class apart from the likes of O'Reilly and Hickman and has boxed a lot at welterweight. He also has stoppage wins versus L/Middle and Welter champions in Pryce and Nuumbembe.

Reid is very much the opponent here and I expect him to be stopped inside 4 rounds.

Very true, Coco. My mistake. What i should have said was that he hasn't been stopped by a punch since 2003. He was retired on his stool against Morrison.

Oh yes. Olusegun's the best light welter over here since Hatton and Witter. Great to see this little twist of fate. These local lads are far too unreliable. That should prety much guarantee Munyai gets some Sky coverage as well. Last time these two shared a card, Munyai hammered Power (1st fight) and Olusegun brutalized Numbembe. This has made my day.

Olusegun is too much for Reid, but full respect to Gary for taking him on.

Ajose Olusegun could be a monster at 140... I wouldnt think a fight against Witter would be a foregone conclusion. Lets hope he can be moved into a meaningful fight soon, he'll stop reid within the first couple of rounds.

olusegun is easily good enuff to win a title at 140 at the moment.

he's a class act in my opinion.

Gutsy Gary is up against it big time, but it's championship fights he wants and if he does pull it off, Impact can probably get him some good pay days.

As everyone on here knows, Olusegun is a dangerous, class act. Reid does carry power, but I can't see him making it count. Unlike Nigel Wright, Ajose won't just be looking to box on the move and grab, he carries damaging power himself.

I'll be rooting for Reid who's showing real balls to have a go at this guy, but he's booked for a stoppage.

I thought Reid sounded quite serious about stepping down to lightweight, maybe the opportunities weren't there. Shame as he could have been a bit of a recking ball to the domestic guys

Fair play to him taking this fight though, reckon he was probably the only guy in the queue to fight Olusegun. If as expected Olusegun wins, i'd like to see him fight Mutley or Morrison.

I believe that is still Gary's intention. He plans to go into this fight, give it his all and see what transpires from there.

Hope Gary can do it. Can't see it, sadly.
