I was reporting in court when he got sent down and his legal team offered to compensate Mr Burgin in whatever way was necessary to keep Hamed out of jail. Of course, we don't have a culture of 'blood money' in this country - you have to be punished for your actions.

I don't know the details of the compensation claim that is ongoing but if the bloke hasn't worked for two years, his life must be falling apart, as well as the constant pain he's in.

Hamed should do the decent thing and pay the bloke what he needs to be comfortable for the rest of his life.

hamed's "charity work" what a crock!! that little twirp is a phony and i was further angered when i read that the wreck was caused by hamed trying to impress someone by driving at 90mph in his hot car!! did that scumbag do his full sentence in jail or did he get out on early release?!? either way, he should get his just reward in hell...

naz got off early despite trying to wreck his room when he wasn't allowed a day off to see his newborn kid and despite flooring some guy in an ill tempered sparring session. he's irresponsible scum and i'm glad most ppl's last memory of him is wobbling around like a decapitated chicken v barrera.

Ive got mates who have been inside b4 you start aswell, mostly for petty shit the odd assualt charge but running away when a fellow human being is possibly dead or maimed is pretty loathesome.

One question bout Hamed...I always thought early on the 'arrogant' thing was for show...was he always a tit or did he get consumed by the whole 'Im Prince Naz and im well ard' character??

Hard to have sympathy wit Nas in this case, he is fortunate to have got off so lightly considering how he almost killed the bloke, and I hope the geezer sues him, as I think you can bring civil cases for damages caused by crime in this country.

i always thought he had some fatal flaws in his style that the top boys would expose tbh.

barrera come a little short of my 5th rd KO expectations though.

While I believe Hamed is still one of the best British fighters produced in this generation, he still did not produce what he was ultimately capable of.
He could have been an all time great.

He would have beaten MAB in 1997, but I think it was alround that time he became too caught up in his own hype and deterioted(sp)

After that MAB was twice soundly beaten by Junior Jones, but instead of sulking and retiring he re invented himself into the box fighter that has secured his legacy.

It was such tactics that exposed Hamed in their bout.

Hamed on the other hand got lazy and just relied on his tremendous punch power would would account for most fighters but not the elite.

Well to be honest if Burgin has been driven out of his mind by what has happened to him I wouldnt be surprised. Hamed should still be in jail for what he did imo and the fact that the guy is still fighting for compensation is outrageous. My dad was in a road accident and recived injuries to just his leg but I experienced for myself all the trauma these situations can cause and it makes me actually shudder to think of what Burgin has been through and will continue to go through, ...Hamed has crippled the guy and got off virtually scott free.

I think that from the start Hamed always had a bit of bully in him, I saw this in the Belacastro fight and when he met fighters that he couldnt dominate he always struggled... I dont think he ever would have got past fighters like Barrera and Morales... remember how he struggled with Kelley and Johnson for instance.
