I pick Rossman in this bout.

Well, Hill would've been about 14 or 15 years old during Rossman's brief stint in the top ranks, so I agree.

This is a pretty interesting matchup elmer.
Neither were top- tier champions but both were pretty decent.
This is assuming that Hill could be lured to fight outside of North Dakota.

Hill was the more consistent of the two. However, a focused Rossman was very good and should be able to take this. The problem is that too often Rossman wasn't focused. Right now I'm on the fence on this one.

I was a huge Rossman fan, but he was terribly slow footed, and had at best average hand speed. And Hill was one of my least favorite fighters, but he was pretty quick and I think that he would had a pretty easy time with Rossman winning a comfortable decision.

This went about the way I would have expected it on the Simulator.

In order to make it as fair as possible I had to set it for career end for both fighters. No other options is available for Hill. Probably increasing the advantage for Hill.

Sometimes the simulator seems realistic but not this time. It's hard to imagine Hill winning that easily. Rossman would only win 1 or 2 rounds in a 15 round fight? Hill wasn't that good.

I completely agree. The way I saw Rossman beat a world class champion like Victor Galindez in the Ali-Spinks II undercard and when he did his first title defense against Aldo Traversaro tells me that he could have beaten Hill too.

How Rossman performed against an over the hill, ill-prepared Galindez, and Traversaro has no bearing on how he would have done against Hill, who relied on speed and quickness. Rossman was terribly slow footed and would have been an easy fight for Hill.

Despite his cool nickname I never considered Hill to be lightning quick. I never thought Rossman was that slow. The quickness gap isn't so great that Rossman wouldn't be able to get some shots in. Hill would certainly have the quickness edge and would not be easy to hit. If Rossman fought at his best, he is going to get to Hill once in a while. Is Hill going to be able get in and out constantly without getting hit? Thats doubtful. It's not difficult imagining Hill winning a boring "Hector Camacho type win" (Run, don't get hit,land a few flicking jabs each round) if Rossman doesn't force the issue.


I give Rossman more credit for beating Galindez. Galindez wasn't even 30 years old yet. He really hadn't shown any obvious signs of being washed up. Galindez had even beaten Lopez and Eddie Mustapha Muhammad within the last 12 months before this fight.

I remember this fight well. Rossman fought well and really gave Galindez a beating in this fight. If he was this focused against (again no guarantee of this) Hill, he would have a good chance.
