just heard mike jennings is defending his wbu title on the 14th july at the o2 arena against ross minter.very tough comeback fight for minter imo but fair play to the lad for taking it.jennings to win inside the distance.
i would like your opinion on how you think the fight will go please

Minter is a good a value fighter and a real crowd pleaser.
However I feel he is a good area champion but is not good enough to win a domestic title.

He has been fed mainly on a diet of journeyman, with his best win being against Chas Symonds who had been fed on the same.

Ross showed great courage in a cracking scrap v the veteran Curiel but ulimately got bashed up.

Jennings on the other hand is a proven domestic champion, with good wins over Saunders, Vincent, Pryce and Takaloo.

He is no great puncher tho and I can see Minter being on the wrong end of 12 one sided rounds

Looks like a jennings win, he is in another class to Minter - Fair play to Minter though taking on Jennings.

I no Ray Jennings personally (Mikes dad) he trains us sumtimes down at Wigan ABC and i have known about this fight for a few weeks met Mike loads of times sound lad and i think he is in a diffrent league then Minter no disrespect to Ross but hes gonna get beat easy in this 1 he can bang tho so it should b a good fight turning out to be a very good bill that now at the o2.

Think Jennings will win this cos of his fitness,

Minter will cause him problems if can keep get in range and keep his punches short and solid. But doubt Minter can stay with him for 12 rounds,

Jennings to pick n poke to a points decision.

A loss can make you a better fighter! but Minter needs a few wins first

Really good match. Always thought Minter has it in him to improve substantially but big fan of the Chorley Lurcher too!

Barnes use to knock Jennings about in sparring, I never saw it at my time at the Colly.

Fair play to Ross, but Mike by wide decision or late cuts stoppage, when well on top.

Anthony Small broke his rib, if you look at his inerview of fwtv he mentions it but doesnt say the name. So it corresponds.

No surprise to see Minter off with an injury, i would have expected Jennings to lead him a merry dance anyway and box his ears off if it had come off. Minter is a decent pro with an honest style but i think Area/fringe British title is his level.

so is the fight on soon?

FW.TV says fights back on - at London Excel - 2nf Feb - hope Minter turns up...

Minter recently pulled out of the show at K2 in crawley, think pressure of ticket selling was quoted around for the pull out.

Off this topic, Jay Morris has been on a great winning run recently, probably the UK's hardest working pro. What has changed for him? Is he still or was he ever with Jack Bishop??

Yeah Jay has had a couple of good results recently, his career looked to be going the wrong way with 4 losses in a row, but he's turned it around in the last couple of months, the win over Danny Goode was a very importent win for him.
I'm not sure who he's with as regards management, but i see on the schedule that Jay is to box David Wakefield over 10 rounds on the 23rd of Feb in Crawley, which is another tough one for him.
If he wins there then a shot at the masters title might come his way.
overall on the Island we've not had many pro boxers, but the amateurs is looking the best for years now, all the clubs are busy from what i've heard, and there was a club show the before Christmas. The first amateur show in 12 Years over here. So hopefully we can start to see some more boxers coming through.

I was so happy for him when he beat Goode, probably the most flash and arrogent boxer out there, with some gift decisions.
