The worst bit was when Hameds brother was boasting about how Naz was training at some big mansion, while Barrera was up in the cold mountains at Big Bear. He thought that was a positive thing. Naz' ego had really gone through the roof at that time.

I think I remember seeing this a few years ago.

Was there a bit where Naz demanding the best room in the hotel and it was basically like a luxury penthouse on the top floor? I remember it being a ridiculous showing of the most tasteless arrogance!

Raith did produce it, which kinda sums up his ability to do anything useful other than leech money from his brother.

barrera was training in a public gym as well.

naz was in this lush training camp getting embarassed by mexican roadsweepers.

Yeah I remember watching this when it was on tv the first time.
It's hard to pick a 'worst' moment out of all the cring-worthy ones but for me, I think it has to be the cam-corder filmed sparring session.

Is this the documentary where Eubank tries to give him some sage (if slightly too long-winded) advice and Naz takes the piss?

If it is then it's also the one where he appears to be more concerned with his entrance than the man in the opposite corner. A fool 'till the last.

Any reading Calzaghe's book about how Naz nearly got Into a scuffle with Eubank at some airport and how Carl Thompson was being badly annoyed by Naz so he gave Naz a good shouting.

oscar delahoya proved fernando vargas was wrong about HIM by KOing vargas after fernando said "it's hard to be disciplined when you're sleeping in silk pajamas", but naz proves that there is SOME truth to the statement!!

Not really, it's hard, but not impossible. Oscar is obviously motivated by a lot more than fame and money, despite his image, I think Oscar has a warriors mentality, otherwise he could have walked away from the sport a long long time ago.

For Naz, money and fame I think were his biggest motivators, it wasn't fighting he loved so much as winning and beating his opponents up.

And yet post calvo he's pretty much faded into obscurity. What a whopper.

Hope the doc is shown again, one for the sky plus me thinks.

The part where he is sitting in his dressing room and goes into a surreal rant about goats "I want green goat skin gloves. Green is the colour of Islam. Goats are what we sacrifice." and then starts laughing manically was my favourite bit.

the thing that made me laugh most about naz was earlier in his career. he was talking to don mcrae about the war in yemen and how he couldn't fight over there. "yeah, shame about all that warfare", he says, as quoted in Dark Trade, as if it was a minor hindrance to him getting his own way rather than some major historical crisis!

Naz was shit that night no power no snap. no fitness only a good chin. I was a big Hamed fan then but glad Barrera out boxed him, its a travesty he never meet Morales and Manny. Also what the hell was Lewis doing there with 3 weeks till his fight, which resulted him being knocked out.

One of Hames major problems was that he didn’t have the intellect, vocabulary or charisma to match his ego. Therefore whenever he went on one of his many egotistical rants he just made himself look silly. It was often embarrassing to watch at times, when he was spouting his self promoting egomaniac diatribe and you could see in his eyes that his
brain was struggling to keep up with his mouth.

A man should know his limits.

On his way up Hamed was a real force, fast, unpredictable, hard to hit and a thunderous puncher. But then the ego took over. He and those around him convinced themselves he could just walk into the ring and knockout any fighter clean out. He became easy to hit and predictable, just lots of annoying showboating and constantly loading up for than one big shot. You cannot compete at the elite level with that attitude, well not for long anyway,

A great waste, he could have been on top of the World a lot longer than he was if he had kept the hunger and controlled his ego.
