Was wondering what came of Garay after hearing a lot of good things after his fights with Erdei. Good fight for both guys at this stage in their careers.
Come on Paul, bring home the gold!

Any reason why? I seem to remember reading somewhere else that one of the other undercard fights for Mayorga Vargas has been moved as well...
It seems a bit odd that it was supposed to be an eliminator yet Briggs is out in the cold while Garay straight up gets a title shot

According to the Boxrec Schedule, Briggs is fighting Garay on the Maskaev/Peter card on 6 October.

Should be a fairly easy fight for Briggs. Mendoza is solid but does'nt have the best chin, but his biggest weakness is that he can't take it to the body. These problems are going to be exacerbated by the fact that he does'nt really belong at light heavyweight. He got KO'd by Robert Allen at middleweight if I remember correctly, and was KO'd by a nobody not that long ago at cruiserweight.

Briggs should spark this bloke pretty easily. What happened to change the arrangements this time? I hope Paul gets another shot soon, he hasn't looked the best lately and he needs an impressive win sooner rather than later...

Briggs out of Mendoza fight
Paul Briggs hopes to take a complete break from boxing and resume sparring in December after withdrawing from his light-heavyweight fight with Panama’s Tito Mendoza at Madison Square Garden on October 6.
The fight was due to take place on the world heavyweight title between Samuel Peter and Oleg Maskaev.
Briggs has been unabale to train properly for several weeks.
He lost two points decisions in fights for the WBC light-heavyweight title and after the second defeat his trainer Johnny Lewis asked Briggs to reassess his desire to keep fighting.
