I came across an old newspaper article the other day that reported Berlenbach's early days. This article reported that Paul could not hear or speak (he was a "deaf-mute") until he was 18 years old. It told the story of when he helped loosen a kite from an electric wire, got electrocuted, fell down, and when revived got hearing, and eventually speech. Anyone else know this story?

(I've got a lot of "old" material to enter into the BoxRec database, including this anecdote. But I'm hoping to verify the truth of this story before entering it.)
