Attention all OZ boxers & trainers

It has yet again been brought to my attention that New Zealand’s so called pro boxing regulators - New Zealand National Boxing Federation & New Zealand Professional Boxing Association are not observing medical & serology requirements.

Whilst you’ll be armed with both when travelling over there, you’ll find no-one will ask to see any of it. Therefore, it’s safe to say they probably don’t bother with their own either.

I suggest, if you fight over there, upon arrival you shove the paperwork into their face & at the same time ask to see your opponent’s - Serology in particular, & make sure it’s not more than 6 months old.

Don’t take the above mentioned regulators’ word for it….Insist on seeing it.

If your opponent had fought in OZ recently, contact the State authority in which he fought & ask them to give you his serology due date.

As a trainer in FNQ I can tell you that I have been at many tournaments where there is NO doctor and no attempt has been made to get a doctor, there have been a number of tournaments that we have travelled to and left without fighting when I have discovered there is no doctor at ring side.
What a joke amtaeur boxing is - there is Boxing Australia, the Boxing League and now Global boxing each with there own titles and champions, \\

Plenty of problems right here no need to go to NZ

I have to admitt however the two shows i have doen with the NZPBA they have been very good. Doctor Dave Renata has always been ringside and has always done the required medicals with every fighter.

Not to say there are not examples of neglect but none that i have been present to!
