Featherweights: Manny Pacquiao vs Naseem Hamed

Who wins this exciting match? I pick Manny.
In a straight up shoot out this one would be interesting. I also give the nod to Hamed....and I think everybody's going down a few times. This could be the Foreman-Lyle of the Feathers.theone wrote:Picturing the fight in my mind I envision somewhere around the 4th or 5th round with Hamed in trouble, Pacquiao recklessly running into a devastating right hand and subsequently getting stopped shortly thereafter.
Say what you want about him, but Hamed is one of the hardest punching featherweights ever, and Pacquiao isn't exactly a safety first fighter.

lol, I could just imagine Judah going crazy shadowboxing in Manny's corner as Pacman looks at him like "This guy's fuckin nuts" while in the other corner Hamed is not even taking advice from Roach, he's simply asking Roach questions specifically to get flattering answers like "You're winning big Prince" and "He can't handle your power Naz" as he smiles and dances to "The music in (his) head" while on the stool~ MIKEE ~ wrote:random trainersDecagon wrote:Why is Joel Judah Manny Pacquiao's trainer and Freddie Roach Naseem Hamed's trainer?BoxBuzz wrote:Can't resist anymore...I have to run a sim when some puts up the suggestion...I'm sure it's a phase I will eventually outgrow.

The Prince may not have what you think of as an elite fighter on his resume, but if you take an objective look at it, its impressive in it's own right:This is the shittiest mythical matchup I've seen in 6 months.
Naz never beat an elite fighter EVER.
Pacquiao would probably knock Naz out of the ring.
All those guys were shot and old with the exception of Ingle who was simply a bum.theone wrote:
1. Tom "Boom Boom" Johnson- a solid featherweight champion in his prime
2. Kevin Kelly - Only one loss at the time and if not in his prime very near it.
3. Wayne McCullogh - Only 3 exceptional fighters beat him in his prime, the Prince was one of them.
4. Paul Ingle- Solid pro with a few good names on his resume
5. Wilfredo Vasquez- older but still dangerous opponent. Borderline great.
Stop stalking me.Decagon wrote:Are you talking about Hamed's competition, or Pacquiao's?Alabama_Man wrote:All those guys were shot and old
Try telling that to the Princess lovers.thunderfromdownunder wrote:Barrera wasnt "past it" when paquiao beat him. it was only after that beating that began to think and say that.
the same thing could be said about morrales, if he didnt have that slip up against raheem paquiao's wins against him would look better.
IMO thses fighters are "past it" because of manny, he destroyed them as fighters.
Queer street? Naseem got up immediately and though a bit stunned by what i believe was the first knockdown of his career, he was hardly in the state the term Queer street, is used to describe.remember when Haveeb got put on queer street by Daniel "The Beast" Alicea, I knew he was going to be a bum beater from then on. No elite fighter would lose to a circus clown like Haveeb.
So are you saying Haveeb beat an elite fighter?theone wrote:Queer street? Its obvious you're a Prince hater for what ever reason, and incapable or unwilling to be objective when discussing him.
Not saying you are just saying people in general...Decagon wrote:I never rated him as a fighter based on what he did outside the ring.
Alabama_Man wrote:Haveeb is the most overrated bum crusher of all-time. He gets into a war with a shot Kevin Kelley, gets put on queer street by Daniel Alicea, dropped by Augie "Glass Jaw" Sanchez, and ultimately gets his ass raped by MAB and then runs away from the sport forever (well he did struggle with unknown calvo before closing up shop).
He's the sport's biggest fraud, when MAB beat him, he know the jig was up and him and his punk brother Riath ran off into the sunset doing monkey flips. But then again, flipping over the top rope must count for quite a lot seeing as how overrated he is on the BoxRec boards.
The only people Haveeb will be knocking out from now on anyway will be bystanders on the streets of England with his McLaren.
Pacquiao, Morales, Fagquez, and Barrera were the top featherweights of this era, and Haveeb didn't beat any of them. I think they would all kick Haveeb's ass by a wide margin. He would have gotten brutally stopped by Pac, Erik, or Yawn.thunderfromdownunder wrote:i loved the MAB - Hamed fight, he was exposed for what he was in that f
and i think Paquiao would pound Hamed into the ground as well
I think it's, like, a camel tricked out like a HumVee, or something.J-C wrote:What's a Haveeb?
Eric the Viking wrote:Hamed wins the battle of the "most pompous ring entrance," maybe even going so far as to have a paid lackey run alongside him with a giant self-admiration mirror, like Morris Day's character did in Purple Rain.
But, the only chance Hamed has in the actual *fight* is if PacMan decides to slam his pretty Prince-Nez into a ringpost, Barrera-style, and ends up getting DQed for it.
Like 'Bama-man said, the Little Prince never beat an elite featherweight in his prime *ever*.
Why am I not surprised that nearly all the guys giving Naz a chance here are Brits?

Oh, wait, I think it's the English transliteration of the Arabic word for "punk-ass bitch."
