Unfortunately NDou has lost his IBF belt.
A UD to Malignaggi. Judges scores: 120-106, 120-106, 118-108.
Very ordinary ref, took a point off in the early rounds and called a slip a knock down in the later rounds.
Where to for Lovemore now, will he get another shot in the near future?
I hope so!

Yeah Joe, my mistake I only got the news second hand mate.
Did you see the fight?

Yep, and Ndou lost clearly. Was never in it, but always tried.
Paulie was just too fast by hand and foot, and while he had to stay on his toes, it was an easy night for him.

The final scorecards were a joke! There is no way that Lovemore lost every round, even Paulie said he thought it was closer. Ndou lost, yes, but things were stacked pretty heavily agaisnt him. The ring was huge, this was assist Paulie's "slick boxing skills". The ref broke them up the second they came together, if Ndou was going to win it was going to be in the trenches on the inside, it appeared to me that the ref was given clear instructions not to let that sort of fight take place...
Ndou put up an good fight and was in no way dominated by Paulie in every round as some people are claiming! Ndou still has plenty to offer. He may not get another title shot but he will always be a warrior and a champion in my book!

I think you're clutching at straws. Ndou was beaten by the better man. I thought the point deduction was a joke and I didn't like the way the fight was refereed or scored, but I don't think changing all that would have much of an effect on the result. Paul is a very good boxer and it was typical Ndou to take this tough fight. Couldn't see the result being reversed in a re match

I'm not clutching at straws mate just telling it as I saw it. I said Ndou lost but he was not 'dominated'... If you saw the fight you can't tell me that he lost every round!
It seems that there was a rematch clause so we might get to see how the fight will go ubder a different ref... Still a tough fight for Ndou but if he is actually allowed to fight it will be closer than the last one...

Wonder what the result would be if the fight had taken place in OZ and Paulie was the one doing the travelling to his opponent's backyard? I saw the fight and was curious why the referee was constantly breaking them. I wouldn't let that guy officiate another title match.

^ That is pretty much the sum of it mate. Doubt Paulie will come down here though... Bringing his hairdressers would be too expensive

From what I understand N'Dou was simply outclassed

Watch the fight and then tell me if you still think it is as simple as that...

I have watched the fight and scored it 117-110, The knockdown was there but Ndou wasnt hurt. It wasnt as one sided as the scoring suggests but with a ref who wont let you fight on the inside and a 20 metre ring

its as biased as possible towards Malinaggi.
Im not saying Lovemore would have won if the ref let them fight but he would have at least had a crack.

Lovemore won his fight on the same card as Malignaggi today.
Lovemore KOed Rafael Ortiz in 2.14 of 7th round.
Malignaggi outpointed herman Ngoudjo 117-113, 116-113, 115-113. It was reported that Ngoudjo threw and landed more punches than Malignaggi and cut Malignaggi over the eye in the fourth. Rumbles of discontent from the crowd.

Didnt they guy have an atrocious record? something like 10-14? N'dou had only ever beaten one decent fighter in Rabah, every other time he has stepped up he's lost

He has taken on some good fighters and never been knocked out. Not many fighters can say they have been the distance with Witter and Cotto. he has won fights in the States as well.
Ortiz now goes to 14-12 with 13 KOs. Ndou is only the second fighter to KO him, the other was Jesse Feliciano, who recently challenged Cintron.
You would have to ask the American matchmaker why he put Ortiz in with Ndou. Treacy did not make the fight.

he has some decent names on his resume.....Cotto, Mallinaggi, Witter, Rabah ect. good fighter, just inconsistant.
i remeber he was real keen on fighting ricky Hatton a whiile ago, i think he would make a perfect comeback opponent for ricky, he's tough, a former world champ and a top ten fighter at 140'lbs

Yes, but getting back to today's card, Lou Di Bella was the promoter. Di Bella promotes unbeaten heavyweight Chazz Witherspoon. Have a look at the rubbish he has thrown in with him lately.

Ortiz was a safe fight for ndou, becuse he's got a rematch with Paulie Malignaggi Fourth ranked IBF contender Ndou revealed he had clinched a deal to fight the winner of tomorrow's title bout. "It's guaranteed in the contract, so it doesn't matter who wins,'' Ndou said from Atlantic City.Ndou said he had built a good friendship and relationship with the Mayweather camp, which had been brilliant to him and would work with them again.
He said he had also been working with Uganda's former WBC super featherweight world champion Cornelius Boza Edwards. "Working with a legend like Boza is just a great bonus,'' said Ndou.

He took a lot of fights on short notice... For Witter he had less than two weeks...

AUSTRALIA'S Lovemore Ndou hoped to win the IBF junior-welterweight title back off Paul Malignaggi in the ring rather than the courtroom, after both men enjoyed success in Atlantic City at the weekend.
Fighting for the first time since losing the title to Malignaggi last June, Sydneysider Ndou scored a seventh-round KO of Mexican Rafael Ortiz.
In the main event on the card, American Malignaggi made a successful first defence of the title he took from Ndou.
He scored a 12-round unanimous-points win over Montreal-based Herman Ngoudjo, despite getting cut over the left eye.
Ndou said before the contest that the winner of the title fight had signed to fight him next.
Ndou was unable to force Malignaggi into an immediate rematch and said he would look to enforce his rights legally if the American avoided him again.
"He's going to have to fight me in the ring, or he will fight me in the courtroom," he said.
The 36-year-old South African-born Ndou controlled his contest against unheralded Ortiz and finished it with a left hook and a left rip to the body in the seventh round.
"I needed a stay-busy fight and to get a few rounds for the rematch with Malignaggi," said Ndou, who improved his professional record to 46 wins (31 KOs, nine losses and one draw).
"I was leading all the way, it was an easy win for me."
Ndou said he wasn't impressed by the performance of Malignaggi who won by margins of two, three and six points on the judges' cards.
