Heading to Vegas for the Hatton-Castillo fight this Thursday – just wondering where/when the weigh in will be held. Presumably this is open to the public?
Also anyone know when the bill starts and whether we can expect anything decent on the undercard (not Matthew Hatton)?

bit harsh on Mathew that, he's developing into a good fighter. Just a shame he'll struggle to get out of his brothers shadow.

The weigh-in is at 2:30 on Friday, at the Palace ballroom in Caesars Palace.

The undercard has got absolutely nothing on it. I wonder if that will effect ticket sales? I think it will from the American point of view. I doubt it will be even close to a sell out. My guess is about 13/14,000 fans will show up.

Isnt there 8,000 from the uk going? Allegedly.

the undercard is dire im afraid, and i have no anti FA bias, its just with the main event being such a 'headliner' i would have expected some world title level scraps on the undercard.

in fact id go as far as to say thats its possibly the worst vegas undercard i have ever seen. considering the pride of britain is in such a big fight, the supporting cast is headlined by his brother !!!

i know clinton withdrew and should have been on the bill, but that was at least 2 months ago, surely enough time to draft in a few quality fighters from another promoter. all in all a pile of garbage unfortunately...

This is always a potential issue/problem when essentially the Hattons are promoting the event themselves - why would they want to eat into profit margins by putting on a competitive or extensive undercard?

I can see the reasoning from their point of view but as a paying customer I wouldn't be happy travelling to Vegas to see 'Magic' Matthew headlining the undercard!

is it Hatton v Israel Cardona? , thats the reports i've read.

we are first tier 3 row of the riased seating raised parallell to the ring so no fornicating camera men in the way. 600 USD per ticket. No point going all that way to be up in the gods hey.

Cardona pulled out as did his replacement Louis Brown.

Last i heard he's fighting Ruben Galvan.

for once i agree - there is probably not much meat left on the bone once the star draw has had a look.... probably explains Bobby Gunn, and Amir Khans opponents tho......

also unusual for there not to be a televised decent UK bill that becomes part of the PPV....

at least that would generate some interest !!

Let's see if you lot slag this show off like you did Cardiff. What they would give for an undercard like Cardiff.

I bet the Thomas and Mack is less than half full. This fight is not the hot news they thought it was going to be.

The undercard is one thing, but the main event is at least a good competitive fight. One is not a substitute for the other in my opinion.

I reckon you're probably right about the attendance, it's not easy to get Vegas crowds excited about fights, there aren't many full houses at shows in Vegas, and the atmosphere is often pretty much flat. I can remember people booing during Marquez v Pacman! I mean, come on, the geezer had been on the deck three times in the first round.

What does it hold? 20,000? If its true 8,000 have gone from the UK then its feasible there'll be a good few there and the atmosphear should be pretty good too. Although by pretty good it'll probably be football-esque

Ill spoil it for you then.... with the exception of Echols-Zuniga (Fulgencia not Fernando) and the dubious possibilty of M Hatton-Galvan.... the undercard for this is thin... I think the biggest gripe with the cardiff undercard from my perspective (and Macca and Khan were undercard not headline were they not?) was that the two big undercard fights were mismatched, (as was main event but hey ho), and what was televised was not all that could have been.... I will leave further comments for someone who was there, it may be that seeing it live is different...

I was at dagenham on 26th of jan, and enjoyed the whole thing, even the Magee-Lowe fight which was a bit technical to say the least... so maybe its different seeing the whole show live
