CONCERNS HATTON V CASTILLO

Is anyone else starting to get nervous that this fight won't take place ?
I've heard a few rumours from good contacts in the States that Castillo is having serious weight problems.
I ignored them to be honest, thinking it was all part of the cloak and dagger tactics, but now we have this public statement from Ricky saying basically, if you don't make the weight the fight's off.
All part of the hype, or reality ?

The undercard is well worth the £15 anyway.

Have you got a link to where Ricky says the fight will be off if he don't make the weight?

HE IS 3 POUNDS OVER THE WEIGHT

with 30 hours to go to the weigh in . Shouldnt be a problem.

its scaremongering in my eyes then again Ill be majorly pissed off if I arrive in Vegas to find out the fight is cancelled.

Thats if he is only 3 pounds over the limit.

3 pounds is a lot 2 take off ifyou are down to your bare minimum, even ounces are hard to take off.

On the other hand he can lose that in water, as long as he hasn't already dehydrated himself!

Corrales said he moved to 147 because he simply couldn't get below 142.

I know to many 3 pounds is easy, just dry out, sleep etc.

But Castillo may be burned to make 143.

There is no knowing and given his history, I'd be cautious of assuming the best.

Yep, if he is 3 pounds over the weight AFTER a hard training session, he could have mighty trouble losing any more. Let's hope not though.

Like I say the rumours were filtering through last weekend to be honest and I dismissed them out of hand.
However they've persisted, and from people I trust.
Is Vegas ready for 10,000 seriously pissed off UK boxing fans if it's a no show ?
I'm gonna stay positive and can't wait to see Castillo on the scales bang on 140.

Buckley would do the job short notice, bet the IBO would approve him!

Remember Castillo didnt arrive in the States until this week, so it sounds like those rumours predate his arrival so might just be speculation.

3lbs over is more than he he should be at this stage as an exlightweight but it shouldnt be difficult to shift over 48hours. I can't believe he is as tight at 140 as he was at 135.

Well, look at Corralles, who started at featherweight. Suddenly he cannot get under 142, after years of making 135....

It can happen to a fighter, weight does fluctuate over periods of time, and as they get older it gets harder to remove that water.

If anyone can fucck it up, its Castillo.

but he made 140 earlier this year without too much drama so lets keep our fingers crossed.

still think the fight goes ahead if he weighs in 142 mind....

It's only 3lbs and If Castillo tried to drain those 3lbs off but couldn't and was knackered then Hatton would have the advantage once they step In the ring surely?

Well in Corrales 2 he didnt even try and knocked Corrales spark out with the extra weight and power.

Hatton has a better chin than Diego did though.

He wont want to be taking a left hook like the one that felled Diego though.

Castillo looks pretty relaxed in yesterday's work out photos, not like someone with a major crisis on his hands. We'll know around 10pm tomorrow night I guess, weigh in time.

And yes, he made 140 for his Jan warmup, so you'd guess he's going to get it right for the big one.

Sheffield is a dump though :TU: Parking a car around there is like trying to park your .... in shallow-hole hermaphrodite.
You might be an expert on the latter but you certainly aren't on the former. I've been all over the place and I really like Sheffield. Really good place.

As a Sheffield lad born and bred, now residing in Barnsley, I hate the lot of you and have taken your offensive comments to heart. :(
The only time I've ever had a car problem attending boxing was for the Tyson fight in Manchester.
I inadvertantly parked the wrong side of the road on the curry mile in Rusholme.
Thankfully my passenger took the bullet. :D

If I was Setanta I'd be pissed that Hatton talked about the fight not going ahead. They could sue for lost earnings too.

If it is only 3lbs, then that isn't too much to lose in 48hours at all.

But where did the figure of 3lbs come from?
