Heard Hatton is to receive $5M, while Castillo's is $500,000. JLC may not even get a penny of that though. Good purse for Ricky in my view.

last I read was Castillo $500k, Hatton 'over 12 times that amount'.
tho Castillo apparently owes I think $100k to Nevada. After he's paid everyone off whats he gonna end up with, about $100k? Must be disheartening when you know the guy you're in with is getting so much more cash for the same fight.

Hatton gives it the man of the people routine. I losing interest in him as a fighter.

if he received a smaller purse would you like him again?

He comes across as a greedy bastard more interested in money than an even fight.

Because it's true. I don't disagree that he's a nice, down to Earth person. However, he's been milking his blind fans for age's. People were screaming for a big fight two years before he fought Tszyu and they've been screaming for another one for two years since. Meanwhile Hatton has been fighting opponents no one wants to see him against, because he didn't want to risk losing. That maybe good for him, but it's no good to the fans.

Boxing is a business, if he can get $5 million for todays fight, good luck to him. After all its a dangerous sport.

Castillo gets $500k, Arum gets $500 and his Mexican Promoter gets $500k out of the $1,5m purse.
Is is Arum?
I know its split three ways.
Apparentley Castillo fought Njoudo for $4k net.

if Ricky matches his personality with a terrific, high output performance, then he can become a huge star. I do think that going by the last 2 performances, he
has been "milking blind fans" as you put it. But if he gambles right, he won't have to milk anything cos he is a fresh face in a sport run down by 'business transaction fights', gibbering trash talkers and ppl who flaunt their greed before the cameras i.e. "mo' money" & "I want to fight __ on PPV." Ricky can be a real star.
There's a lot ahead. Malingnaggi is a great "gimme" fight as M's popular, flamboyant, talented but still a bit raw. Juan Diaz, WBA and WBO lightweight champ, is a marketable and action packed fighter. Maybe Ricky can be around long enough for the likes of Khan, Murray, and all these talented types coming up like Katsidis, Olusegun, Romanov - you never know. I do think that welterweight would be a big mistake though.

If Castillos getting 10% of what Rickys getting thats insame. Yes Ricky sells more tickets but Castillo is the reason its a superfight. If Castillo gets 1.5m and Ricky get 5m then its a fairer split
But Castillo getting robbed left right and centre is just wrong, hes putting his life on the line, making great fights and it sounds like if he comes up short tonight he won't have managed to bank too much because of everyone robbing him
All thats wrong about the sport. The good thing is Shaw couldn't freeze his purse despite trying too

Yes, Hatton is a buisnessman first and foremost. Lowest risk, largest purse.
Hatton's trainer is very astute and he knows Castillo is on the slide.
At the moment, Hatton is creating and believing his own hype ala naseem hamed.
I'd like to see Ricky V a peak Cotto rather than see him take on fighters past their sellby date.
He looks V up for this and hope he doesn't come out like a steam train and burn up.
I believe a 'past his best' Castillo has a decent chance though.
