Looking back at the mercurial and tumultuous prizefight career of the Donald Curry’s –from his meteoric rise to becoming a world champion to his failed attempt of becoming a Jr. Middleweight Champion 13-years later—it’s clear that the Ft. Worth native experienced it all while finishing with a record of 34-6, 25 KO’s.

If he had met McCrory in late '82, he may have lost.

Well later in his career he was stopped a few times but I don't think it is fair to say that he lacked the chin. If you are thinking about that MCCallum left hook that took him out, well , that could have taken out a horse.
Don's main problem seems to have been that his mind wasn't 100% in the game. I have read and heard that he got into boxing strictly for the money. In his prime however, his economical and calculated pace was a pleasure to watch.
His two fights with Marlon Starling are 80s classics.
It would have been great to see him against Leonard circa 1985... unfortunately Kevin Howard ruined it for us by putting Ray's behind on the canvas on his comeback fight (If granberry is reading this I'm sure he will have a lot more to contribute on the subject )
