Deconstructed suit Miami Vice style would be my bet.

Sort of Al Jarreau meets Robert Palmer.

Martin Fry of couse... the others mentiond are pretenders and the women only had eyes for Martin Fry... and me of course! 8) Mnd you in the 80s I wanted hair like Martin Fry and in the later part of the 80s Chesney Hawkes but all I had was this massive afro that made me look like a Spanish version of 'big dave' of pot noodle advert fame!

Its quite corny, but the Tom Cruise white suit in Top Gun (with the shades) often does the trick.

I'm with u on this one, that Richard Gere type of look(Officer and a Gentleman)

Obviously it's not technically a rock or pop star, but I can claim to have read the e-mail wrong!

Any good ideas where to get the outfit?

I'm prob not that far from u either

Bet your chuffed now, all those that could pull off the Chesney Hawkes look are now probably bald or even worse thinning as feck. - whereas you have probably got a nice head of a hear.

Well, either that or bald at your scalp, but if your tall nobody will know.

Sorry cannot help there... I'm shit at organising things, so usually just go "yeah get me one aswell" to my mates and then pay.

The Tom Cruise suit was hard to get hold off I know (well my mates said), but the Officer and a Gentleman one is usually quite popular and I think there are shops in Cardiff that will stock it.
