I've looked into booking a group trip to Paris for Mormeck v Haye. Can i get a list of who'd seriously consider going as there a few wrinkles...

Firstly who's interested in Rugby? This date is in the middle of the Rugby World Cup in Paris and is on the same day of England v Tonga.
Good news is anyone who wanted to could go to both. Bad news is that the Eurostar is mostly booked over this weekend already so not cheap at all (ditto airlines).

More Good news - i happen to know the head of UK Sales at Eurostar and i could see if i get a favour on the cost but i'd need to have a rough idea of numbers.

So who's is definitely up for the trip (subject to cost) and how many also would want to go to the rugby too.

Myself and Emerson are up for it depending on cost, we'd want to go to the rugby as well (agin depending on cost).

We may take some ladies with us, so potential 4 of us going (but they won't be coming to the boxing or rugby so won'y need tickets for them, be a waste anyway! )

what about rooms? with the cup there probably be expensive or fully booked, did realise this was in the middle of the world cup

sod the rugby, im up for coming along on the haye-train !!!

from what I understand the Rugby kicks off at 9pm so doing both would be out.

Also I am getting ridiculous quotes fro Eurostar - over £500 for a standard return that weekend.

This rugby world cup has really put a spanner in the works.

9pm, Really? I just assumed that it would be mid afternoon. I don't care about the rugby at all. It's annoying that all those twats with their rugby shirt collars turned up have pushed the prices up.

All is not lost though I be able to come up with a way of doing this cheaply. I'll keep you posted...

Please keep us posted if you can find a cheaper alternative. I do fancy going to this one

i can only assume the organisers of the date for the haye fight were oblivious to the rugby world cup syllabus, i only hope we can get round this one.

Minibus transfer from station to hotel

1 night single room accommodation at budget hotel with breakfast (walking distance to arena)

EUR100 fight ticket

29 Sep
Eurostar from Paris to Waterloo departs 1607, arrives 1756

Total - £300 per person

I know its an early start but then you can get some shut eye on the train & then have time for mooching around Paris. Taking a later train would cost £70 extra.
I'm trying to haggle the price down further but it's hard without knowing the numbers.

So who's up for it?
