Best 3/4 months of British boxing in how long?

Calzaghe-Kessler & Haye-Mormeck are superb matchups.
IF Hatton-PBF was to be made (I'm thinking unlikely now) before the years end what an incredible few months that would be for British boxing from Sept to December if those 3 incredibly significant fights were in the pipeline.
Chuck Witter-Harris into the mix as well and even without Hatton against a P4Per it's a pretty mouth watering last third of 2007!

Racking my brain for what happened then, came up with Lewis-Bruno although can't recall what else.

Ah yes Benn-Eubank 2.
Funnily enough Calzaghe made his pro debut on the Lewis-Bruno card too...

The Autumm of 1995 was pretty damn good aswell. Naz vs Robinson
, Bruno vs McCall, Collins vs Eubank.

Other great times I can recall are 2002 and England playing Argentina in the world cup and Lewis-Tyson fighting in the space of about 36 hours!
Things don't get much better than that... Oh yes they do, England and Lennox won.
Funnily enough that weekend could have been all the more amazing; had Tim Henman managed to get past Leyton Hewitt in the Wimbledons Semis we would have a Brit in a Wimbledon final on the same weekend too.

I think it was actually England v Sweden the Sunday lunchtime after Tyson V Lewis. 1-1 Sol Campbell header?

Nope I'm sure I'm right. England-Argies was on the Friday lunchtime, Tyson-Lewis on the Saturday night/Sunday morning...

funny how the "legendary" US writers showed such poor judgement, even denial over Lewis, when they never had problems overrating Bowe for ONE FIGHT in which he looked complete.
Him, Katz, Borges and others were out of order with Lewis, from 1992 till 2003. Funny that Lennox had Holy, Tyson and Bowe ducking him, and that he proved his supremacy over Holyfield not once but TWICE.
It's a cliche but America don't like a non US heavyweight champ - unless he has an Arnie-like gimmick. ie physical specimen, with some kind of flaw (i.e. speaking broken English) to "humanize" him ala Vitali...
Funny that, if Lewis was not really that good, that he's never referred to as an "overachiever." Never seen any of the American writers say that. That would suggest a glossing over, a denial of credit where it's due.
Doug Fischer once came out with the most idiotic comment I've ever read. He said he was glad that the Lewis era was over cos that means we get exciting and competitive fights consistently/hopefully.
Ultimately, US writing on Lewis is very revealing. Reveals far more about the writers - their lack of tolerance and outrage about someone excelling on their shores on their own terms.

Yeah, it was Argentina. I don't even follow football but I remember it clearly - Argentina and Tyson, two of the names British sports fans would get the most pleasure out of seeing beaten by our own.

The heavyweight division sucks arse these days. I think it will continue to suck arse for another 3-4 years. There's no sign of a dominant champion on the horizon. Wlad has become pretty boring to watch now that he hugs for dear life.

It was Argentina, didn't Tyson arrive off the plane wearing an Argentina shirt?
As for Lewis i agree with the general consensus he was treated badly by the US writers. Not sure on Katz or Fischer's work but Ron Borges has always struck me as a poor columnist, his work for Boxing Monthly has never interested me. Plus i read he got done for plagiarism a few months ago.
