Anyone like the look of this. I reckon it's a cracking little bet. Limond is game and has some skills but I'm not even sure he's a legitimate lightweight. Was still at super-feather not long ago. Khan has a 75% KO ratio and all of his wins have come in the first 3 rounds. He'll be hyped up for this and has the speed to do a real job on little Willie. I've had a serious bet on this (It's with Bet365 in case anyone is interested).

Spot on mate. I reckon the ref could be crucial. Can deffo see Khan blitzing him early on and Limond being stopped. Not seen anyone with Khan's hand speed for a long, long time and as stated Willie is not the biggest lightweight out there

Let's not forget it's a big step up in class for Khan. I'll be very, very impressed if he does Limond inside three, and I see those odds being a little bit miserly.

I expect Limmond to at least get into the middle rounds.

It is worth a punt - When Khan is fizzing away with his punches it look's a lot worse than it is and if Terry O'Conner is reffing, expect the stoppage

They haven't given this one to O'Conner have they.

Limond may be stopped when they touch gloves, unless he touches back of course.

Looks a good one. I'll have a go.

Khan's handspeed earns him a lot of stoppages, referees feel obliged to step in there even though sometimes the opponent is not hurt.

I'm not that convinced about Khan's power personally, he has a decent enough dig for his handspeed, but he doesn't look a crushing puncher, though that may come a little later. He will probably hit harder when he settles down a bit as he gets older.

bet £20 on kahn rounds 1-3 (5-1)

and with my FREE £20 bet i bet him to win

so possible scenarios

Khan Wins within 3 rounds = £100 plus £20 bet + £35 on Free Amir 'Win' = £155 (£135 up)

Khan wins = £35 (£15 up)

Limmond Wins + Im £20 down

Not bad

I've had a modest bet on Kahn by points at 5/2

Yeah I had a decent bet on this after reading your persuasive argument there Mr Goods, even after all that bad press you had recently

And as Khan does hit with some decent weight behind those punches, there's a fair chance he can overwhelm Limond in about 3....

I'd probably say Khan to win mid-way, but a fast start is likely on the cards & 5-1 aint bad.

Funny enough I do too - The guy trains really hard using the Scot Harrison method of running up mountains weighted down with rocks - He is going into the fight to win, not to be another stepping stone for Khan - He has had more than double the number of fights that Khan has and his only loss was to Alex Arthur - Even AA had trouble with him so this isnt going to be a walk in the park for Khan - My bet though is Khan peppers Limond in a flurry of punches without actually hurting him and gets the stoppage - The ref will be very aware of the importance of Khan winning for the ITV coverage to continue so Willie will be up against two opponents.

It's causing real problems, this. The casual fans want Amir to win - well, they mostly do - while we want to see him earn victories. The issue is perhaps that boxing fans aren't as discerning anymore, they don't see the smoke and mirrors... Frank knows it, and ITV do their best to sell it all.

What happens is that aficionados begin to begrudge Khan's success, while the public paying his wages continue to heap on the praise. It frustrates me no end to read supposed 'sports reporters' mentioning Khan in the same sentence as Calzaghe and Hatton. For all our criticisms of the latter two, they're a world away from Khan as far as achievement goes.

I don't buy the idea that the sport is weak, because I can easily name ten fights I'd love to witness. Ducking and promotion is the big evil, and it's found a willing partner in TV networks/execs.

Back to the betting: is anyone daring to have a punt on Willie?

To the rest of you, sorry about the tip. Genuinely felt it was worth a dabble at the prices given what we knew but fair play to Limond, he was game as a badger. I may have gotten out of jail in a big way (possibly) as after doing my nuts on Carl Johanesson last night I steamed in with a:

Khan - Limdon Under 8.5 rounds 5/6
Margarito - Williams Under 11.5 rounds 5/6 double.

You can imagine my face when they cut back from the ads and Khan was being hoisted aloft!!! Not in yet by any means but where there's life there's hope. Genuinely can't wait for Margarito fight. Been a cracking night's boxing like.

After timing of the highest order, after banging on about Kahn in 1-3 rounds all of a sudden your on under 8.5 rounds, why didn't you tip this up on betting zone? fúcking mug

Hagler you have to be the BITTEREST keyboard warrior I have ever seen! To answer your question Senor Cocklord (and this will be the last time I ever respond to you by the way as I have it on good authority that you are the laughing stock of the forum now) I did tip up about 5 or 6 bets on the one preview. (I don't tip everything I back by the way). And as for your "fornicating mug" comments I'm getting paid for writing about a sport I love while you spend your dole-ridden days on a PC pretending to be in Spain off the back of a fictional wager and/or getting all lairy and aggressive with people who are simply posting their opinions on a fight trying to earn people a few bob.
