As Tex Cobb was making the inevitable comeback during the early 90's to dethrone the WBO champion, Tommy Morrison, he was stopped in his tracks by a bullshit story by Sports Illustrated that Cobb got his way to the top by paying his opponents to take dives.

Why in the hell would a man who could beat Shavers, go the distance with Holmes, give Ken Norton and Mike Dokes a helluva fight do a stupid thing like that?

In my opinion, the former Toughman Champion, Morrison, would have been knocked out and Cobb would have got the gold.

Morrison was a pushover, his fight with Mercer and Foreman shows how weak he truly was (Foreman carried him the entire 12 rounds)

cobb had an injury and asked sonny barch to lay down.

he was an old man with no punch.

guys with a big punch failed to KO morrison.

i know where youre coming from but i think you have under estimated morrison. he is not going to lose to an old soft punching joker like cobb, who had been tough but years ago.

morrison tko6 cobb

Tex Cobb in his prime would have lost a decision to Morrison. Old Man Cobb would have been slaughtered.
