Did anyone actually read the article linked at the top of the page. If web 2.0 could show tears dripping onto a page, we'd have barely been able to read the text of that sobbing lament from Tom Walker.

Scott has nobody to blame but himself, despite what Walker says about the assorted scumbags, blood sucking leeches and non-real-people that have supposedly led poor innocent Scotty -- the pride of a little parochial nation; the very flower of Scotland -- from the crest of the wave he was surfing to the nadir in which he currently wallows.

Scott was a top quality operator whose style was flawed and whose lifestyle clearly was taking it's toll. He wasn't exactly riding the crest of a wave as Scotland's best fighter of any era, as Walker suggests.

But when the pandora's box was opened, he found it was impossible to put the deamons back in, and, in fact, eschewed all attempts to help him do so.

I'm sure the people he associates with are less than upstanding members of the community, but let's not even think of alluding that anyone but Scott is to blame for his current situation.

'scott must shoulder some of the blame' .... what a load of crap, he must shoulder all of the blame, he is a grown adult responsible for his own actions FFS.

No doubt Scott will have suffered at the hands of less talented pisspots but I concur, the main fault lies within himself.

Like I said Ian. Tom gets himself some spotlight and he's entitled to his opinion of course.

And in the end he's stimulated me enough to respond so he's got something there but it was over sympathetic in the extreme. I'm not a nazi about people's failings, far from it.

But to exonerate him was a bit of a push. And Tom tried hard to.

i dont think that he deserves these comments because it's got nothing to do with what he has done in the ring. so what if he has pissed his money up the wall he bloody well earned it in the hardest sport of all he wasan't the first and he wont be the last to do that but i do think that the boxers managers should advise fighters on how to look after there money better because thats there job to look after the fighters intrest ????

Oooohh.. how I'd love a packet of McCoys now. Just don't get them here. Anyway, when I were a young whippersnapper in Newcastle, near the Scottish Border, there was an old phrase 'the real mccoy' which meant 'the real deal' or 'the genuine article'. We Geordies have lots of shared slang with the Scots like 'bairn' for example, so perhaps that's the meaning.

Wasn't it some development from the time when Maloney decided to nickname him Scott 'The REal' Harrison as a dig to Audley?

That's the thing, Terry. Tom Walker is merely using his inside information as 'Knowledge and Reason' is a little known East Kilbride brewery.

The guy has an illness. Just because its not the kind of illness you can see it doesnt mean its no real.

1 in 3 people will suffer from a form of mental illness in their lifetime and although Scott done himself no favours he was clearly not himself due to alchoholism and depression etc.

Lets not forget he hasnt been tried at court for his cases so its Innocent until proven guilt is it not.

I cant believe how people can say he's a disgrace etc when I notice its some of the same posters who thought the courts were harsh on ex boxer Gary Delaney for killing a drunken kid outside a club whilst he was working as a doorman......double standards
