Been pissing down all day in South Yorkshire again...hope there's no more chaos because I'm looking forward to this bill.

John Fewkes takes an admirable step up in class to take on talented, experienced Tontcho Tontchev. I spoke to John yesterday - "Well, it's better than these lads who fight 25 pulses in a row," says John. "Yes, well you had better not fornicate about then this time, eh?!" I retort. "I'm going to be all business". Hope so. For those who haven't seen much of him, he's a talented lad but loves doing daft stuff and can give points away because of it.

And in the battle of the enigmas, Pat Maxwell is rematched with Geard Ajetovic.

Ajetovic can get the win this time, having enjoyed some notice for it.

my thoughts entirely oliver, i can see maxwell loading up early then blowing after about 5 rounds for geard to take over on points, good match up again this.

Sorry mate - I heard his conditioning and everything else was terrible - but then I heard the same before the Burns fight, lumped on and got my fingers burned.

It was true then but Burns wasn't good enough to take advantage. Kirakosyan was.

Burns problem was that he couldn't hurt Carl to keep the pressure off him. Burns can keep boxers back but pressure fighters he can't.

Rhino got it spot on it seems. As for Ajetovic good win icing Maxwell in 3, how did that one come about?

Overall, have to say that was a cracking bill of boxing. Even the destruction of Johannsen was impressive in it's own way.

Any casual fan who watched that would certainly have been impressed by the quality of the match-ups all the way through the televised card.

I was very impressed by Fewkes. He showed a lot of maturity and purpose the way he dealt with Tonchev, and really took the fight to him from the off, rode out the rough patches in the last couple, and got a very creditable win. Liked his moves as well Fewkes, nice and mobile with a good natural rhythmn about him. Those body shots of his, almost had Tonchev on the deck as well, a few more landed in I think the 6th it was, and i think it would have been all over.

Excellent bill of boxing - really good night.

Steve - Ajetovic was brilliant. Absolutely oozes class and did the one thing he'd never done before (at least as a pro and I've seen him plenty) - he boxed at a good pace.

Maxwell did well in patches and rode some heavy shots but was under fire on the ropes when the ref jumped in. A pal of mine said he thought it was slightly premature but I thought it was OK.

Patrick, as is his wont, immediately stormed from the ring and didn't wait for the formalities.

Why wasn't Ajetovic-Maxwell on TV? It was a much bigger fight than either of the two they showed after Fewkes-Tontchev.

It was the walkout fight. Not sure why. They absolutely raced through the bill. Christ knows what time we'd have got out if it hadn't been for the stoppages.

Ive been saying for years that Adjectovic is class.

I would put him in with any middleweight in Britain.

As your quotes said Ian, I dont think he is a dirty fighter and once he adjusts to make room with his feet and not his shoulder he will have eliminated that troublesome habit from his game.

He looked bang on at 9st 9 - not bad for a ginger!

He's a canny lad, that low blow was very well timed, because he was on very unsteady legs at that point, and badly needed to get a breather.

Had Tonchev been in better shape, things could have been very difficult, but from the 6th on, you could see that he was very arm weary, and using all his experience to hang in there.

Good win, good fight, cracking bill.
