Majority decision? Sprott barely won a fornicating round.

Couldn't agree more. So dire. Just saw Skelton getting his hand raised and even he looked thoroughly embarressed by the whole affair. The idea of either of them competing on the World stage is laughable - can you imagine what Klitschko would do to Skelton?

Surely its time Warren stopped putting these shite Heavyweights on his bills. Stinker after stinker! He's a businessman surely he sees this sort of 'spectacle' as bad for business?

What on earth was that judge on who scored it a draw? Must have fell asleep after round 2.

Don't get me wrong now, Skelton won the fight clear. However, while I didn't score the fight - I did think it could be interpreted as a close one (not a draw, but maybe a close as two points in it)... Alot of Skelton's "work" shouldn't be scoring. Part of the reason why I had no qualms with the Williams vs Skelton 1 scoring.

As I said, I thought Skelton this fight fairly comfortably - but I did think ITV might being a bit too positive about his imput. Although, in such a super bore ITV would have been criticised for being overly negative had they criticised Skelton.

I'm in a minority here but I enjoyed it! Skelton is the Anthesis of skill but the epitomite of substance, a complete opposite of Anthony Small.

There is nothing complicated about Skelton, he is just a big, strong bear who is fitter than a butchers dog, as tough as an elephants foreskin and
as hard as krupps steel.

Sprott is the more talented fighter but was just 'Skeltoned' (new bit of boxing terminology for you there ) out of it by round 2. bring on Oleg Maskaev for the big feller because I think he stands a chance!

Wow, that doesn't sound like what I expected from Sprott. He came Germany repeatedly and made some of the hyped prospects really look bad. Hoffmann, Dettweiler, Koc, they all lost to him and I saw each of those fights on TV. He is limited, but came to fight and had a high workrate to secure the wins. I liked him even more when he knocked out Harrison, and now he lost vs Skelton cause of doing nothing at all?
Weird, well, he's 32, he can bounce back and do something on European level. The EBU-EU title brought him luck, 4 fights, 4 wins, maybe he can do that again as neither British nor Commonwealth nor EBU title seems to bring him luck.
On that notice, how come the Commonwealth title isn't a gateway to higher goals any more. I mean it's nice that those guys (Williams, Harrison, Sprott, Skelton) fight each other to determine who's the best from Britain, but besides Sprott neither of them took part in anything regarding the EBU or EBU-EU title at all lately. Why is that? Are those fights such big attractions in the UK? I mean Williams has been Commonwealth champ for a while and had a shot for the EBU belt vs Sam too, but he got his title bout for knocking out Tyson so why doesn't any of those guys try to get fights in continental Europe or USA? Have they given up on that?

I suppose a lot what Skelton did was that mauling tactic and just teeing up shots before landing one punch at a time, so I guess that could be perceived as not much activity.The only problem I have with the scoring is that Sprott just did virtually nothing each round,every punch he seemed to throw was just hitting the gloves of Skelton.

Sprott really blew the fight for himself and it was all too easy for Skelton to be honest.I wasn't expecting much of an entertaining fight but expected a great deal better from Sprott, he's just so incredibly inconsistent but he was just so languid in there.

Frank W arren must have been cringing in his seat.

Sprott was very poor tonight. So disappointed (and broke).

Great venue though.

What a crock of shite. Sprott totally threw the fight away and had the bald cheek to raise his hand at the end, what a load of bollocks.

Skelton has his limitations but at least tried to fight. Sorry to sat this but Sprott was a bit disgraceful. I hear he didn't try in the 1st fight they had either. Feed the stinker to Povetkin.

He just froze, was heavy and to be honest didn't even have a fight plan, offence and appeared willing to laugh at Skelton as if surviving til then end unmarked was his only aspiration.

I don't understand anyone being shocked it was a terrible fight, look who was in it. Way to kill the sport, Warren. Noway should this of been on primetime ITV1.

and we wonder why boxing is dying, I could find a half a dozen strong, fit, tough hardmen in every major town and city in Britain that would completely outclass these lumbering loafs that are passed off to us as fighters and boxers, I purposely avoided the word "top" fighters & boxers as it is really quite an insult to the sport.

this must beg the question, WHY are these tough hardmen NOT taking up the sport of Boxing? Answer because it is a corrupt piece of PROTECTED shite, thats why.

Why put in the dedication and poor purses' and fights few & far between KNOWING you aren't going anywhere because you don't belong to the right Promoter, Camp or 'backers'! There is NO proper board making sure fighters move up the ranks, compete in 'proper' elimination series and TOP fighters MUST fight one another to ensure the right man's going on for TOP prizes...

would you sweat it out for years with little return and ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE of the Sport(?), progressing the way a Sport should?

Hi everyone first post so here goes,
Big fan of Skelton, followed him since his thaiboxing days
(hese at least 42) and really impressed with what hese done in
a very short time with no amature experience, We all know his limitations
but hese liveing proof of what can be done with a big heart,balls of steel and great fitness especially in todays heavyweight scene. Anybody who writes him off could be makeing a big mistake as unlike every other heavyweight out there (maybe Holyfield apart) Hese not fragile mentally
and has no sense of fear. Hese very good at makeing others look bad and takeing them out of there gameplans,a British John Ruiz and will test the heart of any of the champs out there. so well done Matt and good luck.

Sprott did nothing but throw jabs out of range. Like he decided to win easy but couldn't een get the basic punch going. How dare he raise his gloves at the end.

Only future for Sprott is on the German circuit where he'll get battered by Povetkin. Bring it on.

I hate to say this after how he made me smile earlier in the year - but my reaction to Sprott was "what a prick". What an earth was he doing, and then all smiles at the end. I don't think Matt was hurting him. He didn't freeze - he just didn't try, he didn't want to win at all.

Could be, or it could be he hasn't fought anyone with a solid jab. The 20 odd stone Danny Williams didn't have a solid anything.

Skelton may be useless but at least, he comes to fight.

I can only imagine that Sprott spent his spare time in training watching Akinwade on you tube

To be fair Jim,the British heavies have always been pretty awful(bar the obvious few)
We are famed for it

I don't believe there are plenty of fit,hardcases throughout Britain that would outclass either Skelton or Sprott.
Otherwise they would take up the sport if it was that simple.
You hear so many stories about a local tough guy being a great fighter...would of made a great pro boxer etc etc...I don't believe a single one of them to be honest.
Talk is cheap.

Do what the majority of us have done mate...give up on the British heavyweight scene!!!

At least until the next crop come through(Price,Fury,Dallas,Chisora..)
